That's a red herring.  (As is Guerrero's putative attention-whoring.)

The comment, of course, characterizes same-sex kissing as (a) fundamentally different from, and (b) inherently more offensive than opposite-sex kissing.  For an employee to repeat it to the kissing couple at all, much less actually cite the comment as a supporting reason for proscribing their behavior, is discriminatory in and of itself.  Doing so endorses the legitimacy of the comment's distinction of sexual orientation, under color of authority and with Safeco Field's imprimatur.

That Rebecca Hale's statement to the P.I. failed to address this belies the assertions of Safeco Field's sincerity and seriousness about investigating the incident.  Seems what they were sincere and serious about was PR damage control.

If the discomfort in explaining to the kids why two women were kissing wasn't the reason the usher kicked them out, then why did he repeat to them what the complaining mother had said? Is it merely the job of ushers to relay prejudiced slurs from one guest to another at the park without owning any responsibility for them?

You get used to it, being ignored can be liberating.

The Giants used to have "family-friendly" sections where no alcohol is allowed. Maybe the Mariners should designate a couple of sections as official snogging zones.
