Don't these guys know that they're just supposed to be killing humans? Poor training, I guess.

Another on the long list of "stories that people would consider 'over the top' if you included them in a work of fiction."

Because fiction has to be believable.

A fucking puppy? Shit, we eat puppies for breakfast. Come back after lunch and we'll have some real fun.

Where's Bellevue Ave? Shouldn't he be pouncing on here to defend his precious Marines?

They did something wrong and they received punishment. You must have missed my point that the many of the reactions to the incident were over the top and that this doesnt make the war in iraq perceivably worse than it already is.

So is the Marine Corps confirming that the video is real then? The articles don't really say, do they? I know when the video initially came to light people were arguing about it frame-by-frame.

People are so weird.

Have you ever seen footage of what happens to pigs in a factory pig farm? Pigs are at least as smart and social as dogs.

Meanwhile we're prosecuting soldiers -- people actually employed by our government to kill people -- for killing dogs in a wanton and inhumane fashion.

I can't help wondering what Stanley Milgram would make of all this.

Judah: I think the point here is that this looks like purely recreational cruelty/killing. And plus, puppies!

In all fairness, the puppies were approaching a clearly marked checkpoint at a suspiciously rapid rate of speed when they were initially apprehended...

@6: nice attempt at provoking BA into some kind of response that makes him out to be an ass so you can show up with your regular moniker and tell him how heartless he is.

@11,

You are a moron. I don't use sock puppetry, but if you want to believe that I'm the only person who doesn't like that asshole, go ahead.

@11 B.A. jumped my shit something harsh several months ago. It wasn't even over THIS particular marine/dog incident (yes, there are more than one - aren't PEOPLE cool?). He couldn't even stick to the topic at hand, he had it make it out to be some Iraq war shit insinuating that anyone disgusted by animal abuse was pro-war. Rrrrright.

@7 Aren't you moving away soon?

clearly it's Hyperking George w. Bush's fault for sending them all into an immoral and insane situation where the only logical result is hurling innocent puppies into ravines... *snif* *boohoo* *bhoo-hoo-whoo*

not to change the subject, or brag or whatever, but ive seen plenty of combat, done some things im not proud of, but i never got the urge to kill a puppy.

people who kill small, defenseless animals for the hell of it-not for eating, or because their life is in danger- but for the simple pleasure of laughing with their buds or seeing them suffer have either gone bezerk, are going to go bezerk, have the potential of going bezerk or are potential serial killers.

The pieces of living shit that did this are not marines. Tragic that there are good marines who have died in Iraq and yet these two impostors would live on to do something as cowardly and pussy as this. I've read that the family of one of the living pieces of shit there in good ole Washington have been getting death threats. Boo--fucking-hoo! Its parents should be jailed for inflicting this slime on humanity.

yeah mark, killing a puppy warrants the death penalty for the parents...

Is that the kind of country you want to live in Mark? Seriously?

A kitten would have been funnier. You know they train Navy Corpsmen to medic field wounds by shooting pigs and sending the Corpsmen out to save them don't you?
