<description>The New York Times has a neat article today on Paul Otlet, a Belgian who imagined the internet 57 years before the first web browser was released: In 1934, Otlet sketched out plans for a global network of computers (or “electric telescopes,” as he called them) that would allow people to search and browse through millions of interlinked documents, images, audio and video files. He described how people would use the devices to send messages to one another, share files and even congregate in online social networks. He called the whole thing a “réseau,” which might be translated as “network”...</description>

<description><![CDATA[<p>Yeah, most computer theory was created before computers. I remember in college, our Automata book was written in the 20s, and our Computer Language theory book was mostly written by Chomsky, who isn't a computer person to most people.</p>]]></description>
