Final Seask8 Design Meeting Tonight!

posted by on June 5 at 15:00 PM

Reposted from a few days ago.

The third and final design meeting for Seattle Center’s long-delayed Seask8 skatepark is this Thursday TONIGHT at 6:30 in Shaw Hall. Go, debate, gripe, etc or forever hold your peace.

Also, the Lower Woodland Skatepark FINALLY opens this weekend. There will be pie.

Disclaimer: I don’t really know if there will be pie, but the poster does cryptically promise “sugar,” so maybe.

Pretty sure all of the sugar comes from the Jones soda. But I could be wrong. I don't drink that shit.

Are most skaters really out of bed at 9:30 on a Saturday morning?

Early AM is the best time for father/son and daughter skating. Lots of good, clean family fun going on there in the mornings. It's a great park.

Unfortunately, getting there first also means that you get to clean up the slurpee cups, burger wrappers and PBR cans left by the asshole late-nighters from the night before. If the park would have been built closer to Greenlake Way as intended before the neighbors sued, and not tucked up against the creepy woods, it wouldn't be that big of a problem.

and still FUCK the SPAC and especially the shithead designer for seask8 who is making a plaza. We need a REPLACMENT for the park we've had missing for almost 2 years not some artsy shit street plaza. only dipshits goto skateparks to skate street.

Of course I have talked with Jonah about this several times and he still never reports anything but the regurgitated shit that his SPAC buddies shove down his throat.

now, enjoy the rain.

here's the designers site where he ridicules us the seattle skaters and taxpayers when we ask him for a bowl feature.

Maybe we should just make a bowl and stick it on top of the Gates Foundation building to make a point?

Is this going to reduce skater violence? I hope so.

Pie always reduces sk8r violence, unless the taggers show up.

I'm not here to debate shit, but I will be happy when the smoke clears and all I see is a skate plaza at SC...

I mean, isn't that where everybody started? The street, or the even curb in front of your house? Nobody has ever started out skating by dropping in on a 12ft. pool. The hesh-dogs always forget their roots in favor of some vert.
I say get over yourself and skate everything...

Was there pie? Or was it another Bush lie?

@3, let me follow along here: skate parks attract assholes, ergo skate parks should be located closer to residential neighborhoods.

sounds like a recipe for getting the thing ripped out in six months if you ask me.
