Yeah, I used to be guilty of this. Had the BlackBerry set up so I knew I got an e-mail the second it came through and everything.
You know what? I got sick of that. Turned it all off, and now I check e-mails when I feel like it.
And I'm a lot happier with things that way.
I liked this article too :) Now if I could just convince my boss that if I don't respond to an e-mail within 3 seconds of it being sent, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm ignoring him...
I like "digital gluttony" myself.
This was my favorite part:
"Bad actors hit “reply all” on a message instead of responding to an individual, or forward jokes to big groups."
I turn the sound off for my computer so it won't beep when I get new emails.
Can't say I'm missing much ... or cell phones, either.
