Dept. of Stupid Fucking Democrats

posted by on June 5 at 9:47 AM

The D primary has revealed clown cars of crazy on both sides — but only one side has this bumper sticker.

Update: Slog reader “Unpaid Blogger” decided the bumper sticker wasn’t flashy enough:

I'm voting for McCain if ECB posts something about sexism today.

Do we need to give publicity to every solo kook out there? I'm sure you can find "Black Men For The Klan" if you look hard enough, too, but it doesn't exactly mean a movement. I see no evidence that this is anything other than some crank who spent fifteen minutes registering a domain and putting a rudimentary site up.

It would be funny, though, if someone put this sticker on her car, and there was news footage of angry ladies pulling her from the vehicle at a stoplight and beating her senseless.

The internet being what it is, it's safe to say that even if this meme wasn't started by Republicans posing as Hillary supporters, it will swiftly co-opted by them. Divisive internet squabbling seems to have more impact on the left, already prone to splintering into special-interest blocs, than it does on the right. Maybe it's because proto-fascists have an instinctive understanding of when it's time to fall into lock-step. Or maybe it's because fewer GOP voters know how to work a computer-machine, and are instead relying on eithr Fox news or Reverend Jumbotron to provide their marching orders.

I saw on the news this morning that only 12 percent of Dems say they're voting for McQueeg. Even still, Obama is 3 points ahead.

I think that those loonies who claim to be democrats and are voting for McCain are getting too much attention. And since we will have Leibermann have a Zell Miller moment at the GOP convention I just say let them go over the the Republicans: they weren't going to vote for a Democrat no matter who won the nomination.

Didn't 10-12% of dems vote for Bush over Gore and Kerry?

Yeah, they both lost but it's comforting that even at his lowest point, Obama is holding the party together pretty well and is still ahead.

He's got dems that still need to come home. He only has to fight on one front now. And while he handled Hillary with kid gloves, John McCain will receive no such courtesy. He's only going to go up from here.

Dems are such a joke falling for someone just because he gives good speech. Actually not all dems but the far left of the party.

The best thing about the Internet is that it lets anyone be heard and gives everyone a chance to discuss with wide groups of people.

Obama has just made the DNC stop accepting money from lobbyists.

Awesome move.

I especially like his immediate use of power to deliver .

@19 - Yeah, speeches aren't important for politicians at all. Not nearly as important as the "experience" of being married to a former President.

On the topic of speeches, with all this "No Quarter USA" and "Democrats for McCain" (same thing?) bullshit making me want to stab my eyes with a fork, TPM TV provides a beacon of hope and hilarity in the form of a montage of McCain's embarrassing victory speech combined with the talking head reactions.

Pretty good show, unpaid blogger. I have two complaints.

#1: I don't think the tag line is necessary. The coat hanger gets the point across.

#2. Your color is messed up. There's a slightly red square around the coat hanger that doesn't match the purple behind it.

Fix that, and you've got a winner. I'd even put it on my MySpace.

And for entertainment purposes, here are some comments from the first blog entry on the site.

Can you please design some bumper stickers or merchandise that specifically says Hillary Dems for McCain? I want the DNC to see there is a voter backlash against annointing Obama instead of honoring the people’s votes for Hillary...
You have my support. I will not give any support in any form to Obama or the Democratic Party at this point. They have betrayed us as voters...

McCain isn't so far right we as Hillary supporters can't see him as president. Maybe if the Obamatons we're such Hillary haters, we would be able to join forces, but they are repelling, honestly. But if they hate Hillary that much, then I can't identify with them, I am obviously on the wrong team and changed my party and also Voting McCain.

Givemehill, so you basically the issues didn't matter to you and identity politics did?

My issue was Universal Healthcare this election. That's gone now. He doesn't have Universal Healthcare plan, he has a plan for children, I have read up on it, it is not Universal. So with that plan gone, experience is my other issue. I alos support our soldiers, so I respect Senator McCain greatly.

Ha ha ha, anyone who claims to care about health care and soldeirs voting for McCain! It is clear that the folks claiming to be doing this are just a trickle of batshit crazies like GiveEmHill above. Losing their support is probably a good thing for Obama.

That's the exact types of comments that have been so repellant, that was completely unnecessary. I was willing to agree to disagree, but you laugh at someone and insult them when they don't think as you do? This is an election, YOU are not personally the candidate. It's not the end of the world if this guy gets it or that guy. People are in government all the time that you may or may not like, but if you become hateful and nasty to make your point, well you have then only made one point. You're ignorant, which explains your choice.

Posted by GiveEmHill | June 5, 2008 1:46 PM

@35 - I guarantee you that Obama's healthcare plan is much closer to Universal than McCain's. Here's a link to McCain's healthcare plan, by the way. It's basically a giveaway to large healthcare providers and provides tax incentives for people who opt out of their employer's plan. It will do NOTHING for poor people or for people who aren't already covered by their employer.

And, if by "supporting our soldiers", you mean supporting them into more war (with Iran and continuing longer in Iraq), then go ahead and vote for McCain.

"I'm voting for this candidate because anonymous posters on the internet claiming to be supporters of some other candidate said mean things and I'm against saying mean things."

Obama is an awful candidate and there are plenty of reasons to reject him and his clown show campaign.

Here is one -
Obama is an anti-baby extremist who voted against outlawing a form of infanticide!
