Where are you now, Ruslana Korshunova?

…[T]he 20-year-old supermodel whose face graced the cover of Vogue, committed suicide on Saturday when she fell from her ninth floor apartment in New York’s financial district, according to the medical examiner’s office.

I saw this news story this morning, and the first thing I thought was that Mudede would post a giant picture of her followed by a few cryptic sentences.

I am surprised, however that you didn't hit the angle of the magazine designers tracking her down in Almaty after seeing some random picture of her looking like "something out of a fairy tale".

No suicide note but they did find some Mudede columns printed out and scattered on her floor.

I bet her reasons were dumb.

"She looked like something out of a fairytale!" Jones told the magazine, according to AP. "We had to find her and we searched high and low until we did!"

Then we distorted her world view to the point that life was meaningless at twenty!

Awesome!

@1 has it. The important part is

"Her break came when modeling booker Debbie Jones noticed her while perusing an in-flight magazine article about Korshunova's hometown of Almaty, AP cited the Vogue report as saying.

"She looked like something out of a fairytale!" Jones told the magazine, according to AP. "We had to find her and we searched high and low until we did!""

Let's put the pieces together. Debbie Jones knew she could make money exploiting the young woman's looks. From this quote it seems that there was no thought of whether the young woman could handle such a life change. Nor does it seem likely there was any consideration of preparing this model for what she was getting into. It's possible that the woman had a preexisting mindset that would have led to her taking her own life anyway, but how many people think that if Debbie Jones and her employer had not found the woman, the young woman would still be alive.

"...committed suicide on Saturday when she fell from her ninth floor apartment in New York’s financial district..."

They usually commit suicide by going on another pro-Ana inspired diet.
