"Truth guys acting like they’re in the first half of some sort of paramilitary Blair Witch Project"

Oh no Athena drew pictures of the 6 time to kill her.

This post just reminds me of breathless callers reporting various revelations and conspiracies on the Art Bell show.

It wouldn't surprise me if the flag-wrapped glow stick was an intentionally random (but portentous) act, just to see what new conspiracy theory twist it might provoke.

Um, hello?

Yes, I'd like to report a missing glowstick.

Identifying marks?

No, it was just a glowstick.

Yeah, I threw it at some kid who was flashing her laser pointer at my black chopper.

Uh huh ...

True. Next time I'll use a rock.

as a Denverite, it's hard for me to dismiss these seeming crazytards out of hand immediately. My dreams have echoed with a relentless THUMP THUMP THUMP the past couple nights because of these Orwellian "exercises."

"Way to be credible, guys.'

Truthers parted ways with credibility years ago.

Eek, I'm going to Denver next month. Should I be on the lookout for glowsticks pelting down on me from above?

It would be silly for the military not to practice ahead of the convention because honestly who knows what kind of crazy shit might go down, after all the convention organizers are running way behind on the budget so there could be appetizer riots. And, they aren't serving fried foods so delegates from the deep fried states might take up arms.

I love Truthers so much more than Paultards. Thanks, Mr. Constant for continuing to bring the updates on these kooks.

We Are Change Colorado, and you can, too!

I hope We Are Change Colorado continues to document these exercises as well as expose groups that are promoting violence at the DNC like recreate68.org

Lets hope that the DNC does not turn into a state sponsored black op like the WTO.

Does anyone have a timeline that can show us when exactly the Truthers got coopted by the kook right-wing militia types? That black helicopter stuff is so 1992. What's next, complaining about the New World Order (tm)? Are you sure those aren't UN helicopters? Or CANADIAN helicopters?

Not that it's surprising. Any "movement" that stupid and that disorganized and that scattershot in its ideas is bound to be coopted by somebody.

Will, I think shining a laser pointer at a military helicopter on exercises is going to get you in a lot more trouble than a glow stick. I'm not sure how much more, but I would like you to try it so we can find out.

@14 - actually, you're not supposed to know about the Canadian choppers, Fnarf.

Will @15, why not?  Are they stealing designs from the Orange County crew?

I love that the clear, to-be-developed lot by my apartment is a "holding grounds" to these kooks. Sure, seeing guys with machine guns flying over my apartment was scary, but these people have watched way too many x-files episodes.

Because then the terrorist White Supremacists will know.

(funny thing is, I'm not really joking, even if this is humorous).

@14:
They've been having temper tantrums about the New World Order for years. Probably about 2003 they decided to merge with their intellectual equals in the "guvment's bad" movements. Also, many think Waco was a false flag with McVey being a fall guy or CIA agent to try to preemptively stop them from seeking the truth. Or something.

They have a creationist level grip on reality in general, to put it briefly.

We know you're not joking, Will. You don't have to tell us. That's like telling us "I'm not hitting 800 home runs".

What sort of crazy shit going down would warrant military involvement? Local and maybe state police, but the military? I don't think so.

Do a Google search for "9/11" and "Denver International Airport." You'll find plenty of crazy shit, possibly including links to the infamous "boxcars with shackles and guillotines" conspiracy theory.
