he wasn't IN it. he directed it. and it's a revival of the musical.

#1: A little background. Bartlett Sher has won some national acclaim for his work at Intiman and as a result has helped to earn Seattle notice for its thriving theater scene. In particular, A Light in the Piazza went on to a successful New York run after opening here, earning several Tony awards for its Broadway run.

One of the reasons his South Pacific is earning accolades is his decision to cast Asian actors in Asian roles. Historically these roles have been played by Caucasians.
