Any Sex Toy You Own May Be Used Against You in a Court of Law

posted by on June 6 at 12:39 PM

Mark Patrick O’Donnell is on trial in Pennsylvania for the rape and murder of his girlfriend’s 14 year-old daughter. In attempt to undermine the credibility of the girl’s mother, Danielle Cattie, O’Donnell’s defense team entered the woman’s sex toys—dildos, vibrators, anal beads—into evidence yesterday.

Judge William J. Furber, who is presiding over the nonjury trial, nodded stoically as the detective displayed a vibrator, purple anal beads, a bottle of “pleasure-enhancing lubricant,” a videotape titled “Big Bad Biker Bitches” and a mysterious sex device with wires coming out of it.

O’Donnell and Cattie had been smoking crack together on the night of the murder. The dead girl—amazingly enough—was an honor student.

If only they'd gotten married! Then the murdered girl would have had a mother and a father.

This is the sort of headline that always makes me worry I'm going to get canned at work but I end up reading it anyway because its about super fun 'personal' toys.

Well, duh. Any good, God-fearing Christian will tell you that non-procreative sex out of wedlock is PURE EVIL!

You'd think the crack pipe would be enough to undermine her credibility.

I don't know why it's amazing that the daughter was an honor student. Just because her mom is a dumb ass, crack smoking 'ho doesn't mean that the daughter can't be intelligent and hard-working.

That's about as dumb as saying it's amazing that The Kid is straight despite having Dan Savage as a father.

Kinda lame, dude.

Yes, but as we've established, a gay household does not negatively impact a child's upbringing. However, a crack-smoking mother -- at least a habitual one -- would definitely be a burden on a child. It's not terribly amazing that the child was an honor student, but surely you can grant that she was working against the odds?

Millions of shitty, shitty parents who do stupid things and neglect and abuse their children end up producing intelligent, compassionate offspring. And millions of great parents who love and nurture their children and provide them with plenty of opportunities end up with nasty, selfish dumb offspring.

It's a crap shoot.

@12,

I don't know about that. Both things can happen, but the majority of the time crappy parents produce fucked-up children and good parents produce decent children.

Unsubstantiated bullshit. Do you really mean to imply that parents have no effect whatsoever on their child's development?

Of course,it's irrelevant, but in a bench trial judges tend to let this kind of stuff in so that no appeals court will over-scrutinize after a conviction. It's likely that, in a jury trial, the judge would have said no.

Can't the defense subpoena the sex toys of the prosecution?

These laws have always been pretty stupid. Everyone and anyone should be able to have sex toys! its better then people going out and having sex with hookers!
