Are you fucking kidding me? Candy Crowley is the worst of the kool kids insider media. She's never insightful and always full of the "he said, she said" modern media nonsense. Everyone forgets that she had a prime role in torpedoing the chances of multiple democratic candidates, most notably Kerry.

i don't know, what is there to say about michelle obama's appearance on the view? her ability to suffer idiots with grace and aplomb? that' a very very important skill for a first lady to have, so i want a summary. because there's no way i can actually stand to watch it. so i need someone else to tell me how well she did.

Was it on that show when Anderson said he wanted to be Donna Brazile's boo? Because that was just so wrong on so many different levels.

I happen to know, from personal experience, that Candy Crowley is not above ... well, I would call it lying, but I'm sure the polite thing to say is "extreme distortions of facts".

Not just Kerry.

Ummmmmmm, actually the best show on television is "Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for the Next Elle Woods."

The three best informative shows on TV currently are:

1. Countdown with Keith Olbermann
2. The Daily Show
3. The Colbert Report

Just yesterday, Olbermann did an awesome segment on the "fixed" oil futures market which raises fuel prices for all and John McCain and his immediate campaign staff support. You don't get that type of in-depth reporting on AC 360 (I much as I like AC himself.

I can't see Candy Crowley and not think about this article from Glenn Greenwald about the "mean kids on the press bus" [salon] and the quote from an interview between Campus Progress and Matt Taibbi:

CAP: You said somewhere that the perfect symbol for the press corps of the 2004 presidential campaign was Candy Crowley from CNN sitting on the bus with cookie crumbs spilling out of her mouth, talking about how ugly Dennis Kucinich was. Is there any reason to hope for a better media performance this cycle round?

FIRST of all the story of the oil speculators was broken two weeks ago on CSPAN!!! Chirst people watch your government live and at work, and it is nice MSM decided to pick it up after awhile.

SECOND of all Randi Rhodes was talking about the oil speculators on her show last week. Why worship Keith Olbermann? He is late late late....

1. suspect "boo" is slang for "beau" i.e. "my male main squeeze" in French.

[See "My Creole Belle" (Hurt, Mississippi J., 1965) (female version of "beau.")

Not that mysterious folks. Where's your cultural literacy??

2. Obama is showing improvement overall versus McCain if you look at the same set of polls consistently instead of just cherry picking one every few weeks -- so that's even better news that just looking at that Quinnypinnyiac thingy dingy.
(ohmygod ihe is telling us good news reject attack attack ohmygod!!!!)

This is from realclear:

No Toss Up States 285 253 - basically they are giving him VA. now. Excellent.

Battleground States Obama McCain Spread
Virginia 44.3 43.8 Obama +0.5
Well he doesn't have it by that much but still excellent at this point.

Michigan 40.7 42.3 McCain +1.6

That sucks. Let's change it.

Pennsylvania 47.8 40.5 Obama +7.3
Doing fine.

Ohio 47.0 41.7 Obama +5.3
Doing fine. Good. HAS 2 of 3 out of PA OH FL -- meeting traditional electoral map requirements. Good.

Wisconsin 49.0 41.0 Obama +8.0
Always had that one in the bag.

Nevada 42.7 43.7 McCain +1.0

That sucks. LEt's do better okay?

Note they aren't even counting FL as a battleground anymore -- that sucks.
WE should fucking get that state.

Here's my take. The economy and gas prices are so fucking bad the GOPsters are so fucking bad any Democratic candidate from Obama to HRC to Edwards to Biden to Dodd to Richardson would be gaining ground right now. As for Obama, give him credit for no major fuck ups and projecting a calm confidence and attacking back when they try to pin him with being a weak on terrorists.

Yes the drama of Obama v. HRC is over amazing how intense that was wasn't it?

Perhaps at some point we can get beyond it -- those Obama supporters who constantly view all "anti-Obama info" or anything from ex HRC supporters as evil, dirty, disgusting etc. might have to drop their cultish tribal identity shtick and get with the unity program....

Unity y'all.

All y'all're my beaux now!

@8 - While I like the shows you've listed, I think it's a stretch to say that they're the most informative. Just about anything on PBS is going to be more informative (Bill Moyers, NOW, Washington Week, Lehrer, McLaughlin). And Frontline is, without a doubt, the best show on television.

I HATE watching/listening to the banter between Cooper and Hill.....DREADFUL.
Cooper's okay on his own but the pairing of Hill with him makes me switch to MSNBC quickly.

David Gergen is the worst hack on television, possibly in the history of television. He earns a huge living attacking other people for doing EXACTLY what he does on Cooper and elsewhere on the network. Cooper himself is an empty suit.

And I'm sorry, but Colbert isn't just better than Stewart, he's starting to lap him. Stewart needs some new correspondent blood. Rob Riggle and Asif Mandvi can't carry that much weight. Colbert, on the other hand, is just devastating night in and night out.

boo is a sweet word that young african american girls use to describe their sweethearts. its old school, and its been around for a while. its actually used by the street wise as well as the non-street wise. however,i never heard anybody over 30 use it.

i think kelly rolland and nelly did a horrible song about it which was a hit a few years back.

at least, thats how i remember it when i was a kid in philly, but who knows, though my neighborhood was 80% african american, im still a latino so perhaps im wrong on the over 30 point.

@15,

Yes, thank you, I know. There's nothing wrong with using the word per se; there's just something terribly wrong with Anderson Cooper saying it, particularly when it's obvious he doesn't have the slightest clue what it means.
