A few hours from now I will step on stage in Detroit, Michigan to announce my support for Senator Barack Obama. From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected President of the United States.
Over the next four years, we are going to face many difficult challenges -- including bringing our troops home from Iraq, fixing our economy, and solving the climate crisis. Barack Obama is clearly the candidate best able to solve these problems and bring change to America.
This moment and this election are too important to let pass without taking action.
Over the past 18 months, Barack Obama has united a movement. He knows change does not come from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue or Capitol Hill. It begins when people stand up and take action.
With the help of millions of supporters like you, Barack Obama will bring the change we so desperately need in order to solve our country's most pressing problems.
On the issues that matter most, Barack Obama is clearly the right choice to lead our nation.
We have a lot of work to do in the next few months to elect Barack Obama president.
Thank you for joining me,
Al Gore

Wow, what great political fortitude to now back the Democrat nominee.
What a great man Gore is for stepping and looking at candidates, picking one, and giving his approval....after the party has selected him.
Fuck him. And the fact that people keep bitching about the Clinton dynasty and want Al Gore in office? Fuck you too. Just cause we lost 2000 doesn't mean Al Gore is that great. In fact, he ran his campaign into the ground, much like Clinton. Voter fraud or not. The only way they got away with it is because Gore campaigned like an idiot.
So get over it. His opinion, especially now is worthless.

Paid for by Obama for America
coward.
Clever timing by the campaign--the Gore story will divert media attention from the California Gay Marriage Stampede
Meanwhile, guess who's co-starring in McCain's new web ad.
This is news? That's like saying my lungs endorse oxygen for what they want in them.
This announcement is no surprise, but does highlight the strange marriage that was Gore-Lieberman.
I want Obama to pick Gore just so we can watch Al Gore debate Bobby Jindal during the VP debates this fall. THAT would be so damn entertaining!!!
Cato @7:
I want Obama to pick Gore just so we can watch Al Gore debate Joe Lieberman during the VP debates this fall.
Seriously, though. I agree with James Carville. Gore would make a killer VP pick.
