What do you expect from somebody who actually believes that it is any of the government's business what citizens put into their own bodies?

Sometimes even with years of proper training in a loving, supportive environment, they'll snap and turn into a ruthless killing machine. In such instances your only hope for survival is to adopt a submissive posture immediately.

Pitbulls can be pretty dangerous too.

Maybe the cop was just doing his part for the Stranger's "Liquidate All Pit Bulls" Initiative.

Maybe this incident will turn Dan Savage into a supporter of the War on Drugs.

On the plus side, one less pitbull (and I'm a dog lover).

...so he shot at the dog while it was restrained on a leash AND between the legs of the owner?? Shooting between the legs of a woman? That sounds...sketchy. I feel like this story is very fishy...

FINALLY!! Taking the war against Pit Bulls TO THE ENEMY!! I am totally supportive of shooting and killing any pit bulls EVEN on a leash in a yard not doing anything!

Why wait for the pit bull to attack you? Kill it before it even things about it!!

Anyone who kills my dog will die choking on their own intestines.

Sadly, these incidents are far too common. Anyone who has spent any time reading Cato's blog (or Radley Balko's blog) will recognize countless incidents of SWAT team members acting like thugs. Apparently shooting the family dog is something jerks do for "fun" during training exercises. And who'd've thunk it would end up killing actual people's nonthreatening dogs? *crickets*

What do you call it when a cop who blasts a chained up pitbull/rott? A good start.

Anyway, I think Slog should run these stories all the time and title them Every Child Deserves a Kitten and a Pooch.
