I imagine Berger spends part of each day dreaming of a phone call from "60 Minutes": "Andy's had stroke, get down here STAT!"

I guess I don't get it. What's wrong with Crosscut making a self-deprecating joke? What's wrong with email subscriptions?

Seattle is more hungry than ever for a decent source of alternative news, so maybe this is just ECBs way of trying to tear down the competition.

Well, since getting HTML formatted e-mail is pretty much a given these days, a daily e-mail is fare more active and convenient than asking for a web site hit.

ECB, I don't see what joke or point you're trying to make. Is is National Get All Up On Knute's Jock week and I missed it?

The joke is: People who confuse desktop and doorstop are from another era. Or at least 1995. Hey, us trust-fund hipsters thought it was funny!

that's a dumb joke, considering your "paper" is still paper and slog has been around since, when, like 2006? and sloggers don't know about things like cuts in posts, or that citing sources for links/pictures is important, or that registered user accounts or threaded comments are, you know, a cool idea?

slog IS 1995. complete with calling people trolls.

unless THAT's the joke, in which case, your post is fucking awesome.
