The Hillary protesters [outside the meeting right now] are occupying an utterly alternate (and healing-free) universe: a universe in which one of the big lawn rally's speakers yells that the Democratic Party no longer is in the business of "promoting equality and fairness for all"; in which a Hillary supporter with two poodles shouts, "Howard Dean is a leftist freak!"; in which a man exhibits a sign that reads "At least slaves were counted as 3/5ths a Citizen" and shows Dean whipping handcuffed people; and in which Larry Sinclair, the Minnesota man who took to YouTube to allege that Barack Obama had oral sex with him in the back of a limousine in 1999, is one of the belles of the ball ...

"Would you rather have a president who had an affair [Bill Clinton] or one who was a murderer [Obama]?" Jeannie, the Greensboro Democrat, asks a fellow in a floppy Tilley hat and Hillary buttons. "That's a good point," he replies.

How long would it take the diehard Clinton supporters to get around to accusing Obama of murder? Well, now we know. And somehow Obama's base gets called cultlike.

Anyways, they just announced: Florida's getting penalized. Big surprise.

In other news, the Clinton supporters at the committee meeting are utterly and totally classless. That is, they lack class. Please note that.

He was on the ballot.

He took himself off the ballot.

He didn't have to. Kucinich didn't, Dodd didn't, I believe, and HRC didn't.

You keep saying he wasn't on the ballot without further explanation because those words create the impression it was like communist E Germany or something -- as if he weren't allowed on the ballot.

He was sucking up to IA and NH when he did it, too.

Meanwhile the FL deal is a good one. It's not punishing HRC. She gets what she mainly wanted (a) recognition of FL voters having votes that count, (b) this lets her count the popular vote in some kind of twisted media made up logic, but there it is.

And good for Obama for supporting it; you may have noticed he's like ten fucking points behind in FL so if you want to have a 50 state strategy it's a good move.

Oh and good tactics, releasing it on a Saturday in the middle of all this. If he'll reject his church of 20 years and 2 of his spiritual advisors, maybe he does have the gumption to do what it takes to win.

I'm beginning to think, despite pundits saying so, that this really won't be over Tuesday.

This is a disaster. It was staged to mollify the Clinton campaign and her supporters. But, they will not be mollified. They came to this committee meeting feigning an interest in reaching a solution. But, the only solution they'll settle for is full-seating. They'll now take this result and harangue the world from here through the Convention about how unfair it is.

All the while, it's a crock of shit. Florida and Michigan should not be seated, period. The votes taken in those states are irredeemably tainted.

Opening this up for discussion in the hopes of uniting the party was foolish and will have the opposite affect.

...finally, this circus is being orchestrated by the Clinton campaign, and they have lost every last bit of respect I had as well.
