And the wind in Clinton's sail after the WV ballot goes bye bye.

Wesley Clark? He wrote a book this year.

I don't think he is running to become the VP. AG maybe but not VP.

That would be a damn handsome ticket.

John Edwards looks like a sneaky cat

a 3rd for Wesley Clark.

he's handsome; a silver fox & a 4-star general who DIDN'T FUCK UP. he's well known to hard-working FOX-watching white people.

plus, a hillary loyalist as VP is a likely compromise solution at the convention.

There's a reason why more American women voters are for Obama instead of Clinton.

Yes, that was not a typo.

Man I'm glad he's winning. If Clinton was the nominee I don't know if I could get over the blatent, ugly racism that many Democrats—Democrats!—have displayed throughout this campaign.

I'd definitely go for Edwards for VP. I was prepared to caucus for him, but he dropped out a week or so before I could.

Yes, what the Democratic ticket needs is another effete one-term senator. That really ought to "wow" the undecideds.

Eli: Following your reasoning, Obama should nominate McCain to be his VP.

I was assuming they'd go with a crusty old white guy to pair with obama, but the fact that edwards looks extremely waspy, and has his whole 'look, my wife has breast cancer' thing could be an attraction for the democrats to ensure they don't lose any women-vote

Not meaning this to be cynical as much as realistic politics...

Max@7, the only thing that Clinton will accept is herself at the top of the ticket, nothing less.

Obama could use a guy w/ foreign policy gravitas on the ticket, e.g., Richardson, to blunt criticisms of inexperience and weakness in foreign affairs.

Unlike Ohio, those of us in Michigan remember that Clinton supported NAFTA. Especially those of us who go to Obama rallies.

I guarantee you if Obama had been on the Michigan primary ballot, Clinton would not have done well.

For what is worth (not much, I know) Edwards is why I was voting against Bush rather than for Kerry in '04, yea, subtle difference, and in WA wouldn't have made any difference how I voted for president (though Gregoire is probably happy I voted Democrat)

This time the Slog is why I'll be voting for McCain, I don't have anything against a first term senator who sounds like a broken record, hey, I thought invading Iraq was stupid too, but some of the the Obamatrons here are just over the top, still, Mr. $400 haircut makes it that much easier to vote for the winner this time.

Richardson, Clark or Edwards would all be fine with me.

Edwards is fairly popular in the south...

Clark could seriously blunt McCain's biggest strength.

Richardson, besides being completely awesome would help with the Hispanic vote.

Bill Richardson or Jim Webb. Unfortunately Hillary has proved this country is more backward than we thought, and a Black/Hispanic ticket might be too much for the drifting Republicans Obama might catch. Wesley Clark? Joe Biden would be a good choice with his foreign policy credentials, but Delaware is in the middle of everything and would get him exactly nothing. Plus, we need two YOUNG men (or women - not you, Hillary) up there to highlight how old McCain and whatever cadaver - Charlie Crist? - he's bringing onstage with him are. Webb's a veteran, his son's in Iraq, he's young(ish) and managed to win a Senate seat in Virginia, first Dem in I don't know how long.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone much cares what John Edwards thinks. There's something about that guy people don't like, as right as he is on the issues. I totally agree with him on just about everything, yet count myself in that camp. The guy just rubs me the wrong way. Still it's good to get a nice inevitability hit once a day. Keep 'em comin.

I was surprised by the booing. I've never heard booing of Clinton at any Obama speech, and I've seen a lot of them. But then it ocurred to me that Michigan Obama supporters have had to listen to Clinton going on and on about the importance of Michigan, and how Michigan's primary results should be accepted because we don't want to disenfranchise them. So Michigan Obama supporters didn't even get a chance to vote for him, and now the votes of the other candidate are supposed to be counted in the name of enfranchisement?

I would be booing myself hoarse.

Am I the only one who thinks Wesley Clark seems gay, gay, gay, like gayer than Anderson Cooper gay? Four-star general or not, I don't see how he helps Obama.

Obama/Edwards is the dream ticket but it won't happen. Edwards told Larry King the other night that he's not interested in being the VP. He's moved on and formed a coalition of non-profits to cut poverty rates in half within two years.
So booyah! No John on the ticket. Our loss.

their messages are very similar due to the same Axelrod who managed Edwards in 2004. similar message with Deval Patrick in 2006 and now Obama in 2008. wake up. it is all Axelrod who is pulling the strings.

My money's on Edwards trying to play the role of Al Gore, Part 2: the millionaire crusader. No way he's veep this year.

I think Feingold or Bloomberg would make the best VP choices. White, Jewish, saavy with economics and money. Both have already bridged the "divide" to the GOP. And they are both progressive.

Word.

Edwards is a milquetoast tool. He'll drag down any D ticket if he's VP.

I do like the idea of him as AG, though.

I'm still crossing my fingers for Clinton on the ticket with Obama, but I'd be happy with Richardson or Feingold.
