Slog - Comments on SIFF Official Guide Out Now

The complete SIFF schedule and guide (including search functions) are live now at siff.net. SIFF members can buy tickets now (I recommend Fatih Akin's The Edge of Heaven, pictured above); normal people have to wait till Sunday. The hard copy version of the cheery publicist-penned guide is in today's Seattle Times. Our no-bullshit guide, packed with real reviews, will go live on our website by Wednesday, May 21, and the hard copy will be in that week's edition of the paper. Good to know: Broadway Performance Hall is not going to be a venue this year, which means it isn't...

Of course, you could buy a membership today in SIFF and at the same time buy a Full Series Pass or a 20-pack (and only get a few of those film tix now while you peruse the schedule).

Film Fest: it's what's happening!

They're now SIFF Supporters instead of "Members". It's a rebranding.

There's some sort of sexual connotation going on there, but I'll take the high road for once...

If you come to SIFF HQ on the weekends to buy tickets, then bring me some snacks...the food options in that neigborhood are meagre and overpriced (ie, WholePaycheck).

*sigh*

they're still using the same interface that's been up for years now. as such, one can only browse by one criteria type. it's not possible, for example, to quickly view just the french comedy films. you can pull up all the Comedy films and then look for all the ones from France, but that's a bit clunky.

prices for passes and tickets have risen, but they seemingly haven't reinvested their money into improving the user experience on the site.

ok, i'll correct myself. it looks like they've added the ability to throw up review, which I think is new.

downside though: the director isn't listed on either the search results page or the initial detail page. you have to click through to the Cast & Crew tab to get this info.

@4 - this is why you have to show up at the booth in Pacific Place (or at SIFF Cinema) and get some of the flyers - they have multiple movies from a single country or genre - e.g. Gay films, Scottish films, or my fave Burma Death Kung Fu Hit Squad films (who knew there were so many ...).
