Apparently no one has told her that ECB finally faced reality last night too. Whatta shame.

It’s her prerogative to run it out all the way to Denver. Ted Kennedy, with far less votes than Hillary, did that in 1980 and spiced up the convention. It’s good television. I must say, however, that I was amazed that Hillary’s campaign allowed a gloomy faced Bill to stand behind her at her speech last light and totally upstage her. It was pathetic.

Assuming she doesn't actually get away with stealing the nomination, it is fascinating to watch. The Clinton's seem to be forming their own Republicrat party -- I thought Lanny Davis was going to lose his mind last night on CNN. He was dishing out Clinton-speak so desperately, and you could hear the other panelists laughing in the background. It was good fun.

Is she just hoping that Obama gets hit by a "bus" (ie. bullet belonging to angry white guy) before she bows out? I mean, what's she DOING?

Hillary Clinton, the Ralph Nader of 2008.

I'd bet she's staying in until she can negotiate herself the VP position. "Gimme VP, and all the autonomy I demand, and I'll concede. If not, I'll fight you all the way through November, as an Independent if I have to."

Um, I'll tell her.

She needs to win 68% of the remaining delegates, for Chrissake. But I guess if she's maintained denial of the mathematics for this long, what's another week or so?

Hillary Clinton is driven. If the Democrats ran more candidates like her instead of effete pricks like Gore or Kerry they would be in the White House now. And Mike in Iowa the same argument applies to Ralph Nader.

All this feverish primary coverage is making me tired and cranky.

She has to run at least through WVa, if she doesn't, the Democrats face the possibility of a conceded candidate beating the presumptive nominee. No one wants Obama to carry that kind of stink into the general election. She has to stay in until after her strong states have voted. Maybe she just won't try so hard.

Also, anyone think that Obama will pay Hillary's campaign debts to get her out of the race?

Her best strategy at this point is to destroy Obama, ensure a McCain win, and then beat McCain in 2012.

Hillery Clinton is determined to be president, and, having lost 2008, she is doing whatever it takes to win 2012.

Amen, brother! I keep thinking Kerry and the Swift Boaters. Obama needs to TAKE CONTROL of the talking points, and tell the public specifics about his plans. If he thinks defending himself against inane questions about Rev. Wright and lapel pins is tiring, he hasn't seen anything yet!

NO! Then Obama will die!

At this point Hilary is the troll that won't leave the board. She's the ecce homo of presidential politics.

She should have had the balls to run in 2004. Why did she wait until 2008? Huh? Huh? Huh?

Telling Clinton she lost is the same as telling Mugabe that he lost the election.

@5: That's stupid. If Hillary ran as an independent against Obama in the general THEN there might be some semblance between Nader and her. Other than that your comment was pretty asinine.

Despite her titanic ego, I really don't have a problem with Hillary in the VP slot. It might also be the lesson in humility she so desperately needs.

More importantly, I think a Clinton Vice Presidency would be a bullet proof shield for Obama. No right-wing-wacko would dare assassinate Barak if the result would be President Hillary Clinton.

@24 - It'll never happen. Obama's ego and vindictive streak will show itself with this. He'll choose a female, like Sebelius, as VP, just to torpedo any 2016 possibility for Clinton. He's bitter, very bitter, and he's out to destroy the Clintons.

I remember a time - seems like YEARS ago now - when I could have been happy with Hillary OR Obama. (Or Edwards or Biden or Kucinich and a few others...)

But as memories of the bad side of the Clinton white house re-emerged and HC became more and more the 'vindictive bitch', I lost all respect for her... Yep, I would have held my nose and voted for her in November. (Still would.)

But her refusal to see reality and her willingness to obliterate an entire country because they have a mad-man in charge makes her seem just too much like Dubya.

Still better than McCain, I guess, but now I'd need to clothes-pin my nose if a train hits Obama.
