This week, in the Salt Lake City Weekly, I write about them. I have some problems with the photos--I can't believe that they use sound effects to illustrate the story when I write in the story about how lazy news outlets use comic book sound effects to punch up the stories about real life superheroes--but I'm happy to finally have the piece see the light of day. He was alone, dressed in a long black coat, and I can't remember if he had a Lone Ranger-type mask or just a black hat, but on the back of his coat was mounted a fighting staff. As the monorail passed the EMP, he drew his staff and faced down the giant bug perched over the science fiction museum entrance. After we passed the bug and docked, he slung the staff onto his back, darted out of the train and off into the darkness.

@4 : You are right. It wouldn't be any stranger than some of the things I've seen in Lake City. With the yuppification of Fremont and Ballard, Lake City's really one of the last truly fucked-up and weird neighborhoods left in Seattle.
