Re: The Geography of Last Night’s Stabbing

posted by on May 21 at 9:26 AM

There’s a lot of speculation in the Morning News comments about where the stabbing happened. Here it is:

Around 9:30 last night, Seattle Police were called to the 1500 block of Harvard to investigate a stabbing.

According to police, a 30-40-year-old man was stabbed at least five times in the stomach near the Neighbors nightclub.

The man walked west on Pike towards the War Room, where he was found by medics, and transported to Harborview.

Police have no suspects and the incident does not appear to be gang related.

I’ll update with more info later today.

I think we should all carry a knife now. Just to be safe.

@3, yeah knives like in West Side Story! That would be perfect on Cap Hill. We can have music playing in the background while we dance around stabbing each other singing "When you're a Jet you're a Jet.."

So what I heard is the guy was stabbed by the back door of neighbors. The door on broadway, then he stumbled to about the warroom while freaking out and peeling off his clothes. This is all from a friend who walked by the scene shortly after and talked with the cops.

Kinda crazy that the guy was stabbed right on broadway.

I want a switchblade. I'm not sure I'd be good in the musical-theater dance-offs though.

maybe poor people will start moving back into the neighborhood? if you want low income housing make the neighborhood unappealing for high income folks.

At least to cops are making sure they don't show porn in the gay clubs. I mean stabbings should be low priority but make sure the straight cops have to see gay porn at the Eagle or R-Place.

After reading this, being chased by the "Mad Tazer-er" doesn't sound so bad.

In the city of the future there will be no stabbings or tazings. There will also be no music and porn. And the The Stranger will become "the friendly neighborhood good news paper."

Maybe it was Slog commenter Bob, showing off his knife skills. Was the victim a sneering weenie or a cowardly latte-sipper?
