In all fairness, how do you know he was African and American?

Racist presumption, I guess.

Yeah, friendly black men accost people.

Friendly white men are just making conversation with fellow citizens.

Way to show your subconscious racism, David.

Well without a picture of yourself to compare, the Estevez benchmark is meaningless!

I know exactly what mail clerk you mean. Not sure if that means I've lived in Cap Hill too long, or she's worked there too long.

Maybe he thought she looked like Chiaki Kuriyama.

6: Nope, during the 90-second ramble, he eventually stumbled on Lucy Liu's name...

4: For comparison, there's a little pic on my author bio page.

I figured it was too good to be true.

Emilio Estevez doesn't even resemble Emilio Esteves anymore.

Who is Emilio Estevez? Sounds like one of my cousins, but that can't be right.

...and the African-American man looked like Avon Barksdale from The Wire.

Schmader is KKK.

really is not about race but looks. if he looked like denzel than he would have been a friendly customer instead of someone acosting.

if she looked like chiaki than there would have been a line of dudes ( of all races) waiting to tell her.

and by saying im not saying that females need to talk to ugly dudes, or that ugly dudes have a right to the same props that good looking dudes have.

im just saying, hell, i dont know what im saying..

Hmm, last name Schmader...you do look a little KKK or Old Time Nazi I have to say, but then I look like a Republican so who's to say?

ok, seme, what the hell ARE you saying?

it's not uncommon for me to be accosted and mistaken for chinese, korean, or japanese. meanwhile, i'm filipino, and look about as japanese as emilio estevez. people are always trying to make the asians one race.

i am curious to know, schmader, what brand asian this post office worker is.

I, too, am female, some sort of Asian, with hair. A random older white dude in Albany airport recently told me that I looked like I could be the brother of the Asian guy from the TV show Heroes. My ethnic and gender brands were mangled in one fell swoop.

I'm more of a "Check out this welt I got at work today" guy.

#18, EurasianAv is the hottest. I do believe that was the point of the study, though.

Garbles at 16: I, too, was curious to know what brand of Asian today's lady was, but it didn't seem like the right time to ask.

(She sure wasn't Filipino, though.)

I like that he described Lucy Liu as "the karate expert" as if that doesn't describe EVERY woman in Kill Bill. Granted, when I read that part of the post, I hadn't gotten to the part about the clerk being Asian, but still. What a weirdo.

I thought you looked like Charlie Sheen just a tad bit more than Emilio.

It seems like the character was more of a sword fighting expert, which would most definitely not make her a karate expert.
