The decision, made at a special meeting of the 46th District's executive board this past Monday, means that Pollet will be the district's official nominee. "The efforts to overturn the vote are over and it's now resolved and I'm the official nominee," Pollet says. "I am very pleased to...

I hate this primary process. I-872 literally redefined the purpose of a Primary, from a system where the parties choose their nominees for the general election to a simply narrowing of the candidate choices. Even under the Blanket Primary we were assured of having a Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian, etc. on the ballot in November so we could make a real choice. Thanks to Sam Reed and the Grange, we will now have two Democrats in November, no minor parties at all will likely qualify for the ballot.

This initiative destroyed our choices.

You do have a choice .... in the primary. You also have a choice in the general - pick the candidate you hate the least. Why shouldn't the two most popular candidates in the district face off in the general election?
