JFK talked with terrorist commies who put nukes in Cuba -- he "gave up" our missiles in Turkey.
Ronald Reagan ratified and carried out the deal we made with Iranian terrorists -- a deal we negotiated while they had our hostages - we got the hostages back thru diplomacy not war, and Iran lost a few billion bucks in the Bank of England that was confiscated -- Reagan also took marines out of Beirut "giving" terrorists what they wanted.

If u r not all powerful you strike the best deal you can .....sometimes you don't deal as in resisting nazis taking over england or usa....but sometimes you do deal....it's a foolish consistency to say you never deal with terrorists....

@7, if it makes you feel any better, Chris Matthews lost all his cool points only a few minutes later by trying to assert that the USS Cole bombing happened on Bush's watch after James brought that up. So at least James knows his recent history better than Matthews does.

Also, Mark Green flubbed Obama's name in that same clip, calling him "Osama" by accident. Way to help out the cause, 'Air America' guy...

Kevin James did an impressive job of not answering the question about Chamberlain. It takes a lot of douche to keep repeating the same non-answer like that and expect to win. I tip my hat to him, I could never do that (thank god).

People like Kevin James are supported by a vast segment of our population because they know nothing about history either. Kevin James' listeners like him because he is loud and they pick-up on the talking tough cues about "strength" and power. How many of his listeners even know who Neville Chamberlain was? As long as he continues to have a direction for his rants he will continue to con the simple-minded.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if Chris Matthews received so much positive feedback that other journalists suddenly realized that they could get ratings if they actually did their jobs? Like real journalists and not just cheerleaders for the Bush administration?

I have fought against liking Chris Matthews but the fight is over. I can't help it. Sorry. I know exactly what you all mean, believe me. But the good outweighs the bad and I think he means well even when he's trying to be cynical. It's ok. You can like him too. I'm still alive.
