Personally, I like the Reggae music at the south end of Folklife more.

Holy bat-cat Sat Man!!!!

Who the hell in Seattle has heard of gunshots ringing out at folklife before this day....????

Let's do an indepth exhaustive research study and over charge the public and get to the bottom of why this is happening now!!!!!

God god!!! you'd think that mandolins and wash-tub jug bands were ending the world...

or....

maybe we should build BAZOOKAS in stead of getting all "hippy"ish at the center....

OH the spell with it...

...let's just give up our freedom altogether and put a chip in all the people on the planet that make less than 5,ooo,ooo dollars a day in fake advertisments aimed at solving localized international scandals that Judge Judy can't re-run on her show because Antonin Scalia doesn't own stock in recuse yourself from hempers and tempers....

I mainly noticed all of the crap on the ground...dirty hippies.

There sure is a lot of trash lying on the ground for a gathering of supposed hippies.

The guy in the red shirt is still alive--how can that be? He's in a RED SHIRT.

So is a tag or permit required to shoot Hippies during open season. (Thank God they finally declared an open season on Hippies, they have been overpopulating and destroying their natural environment since their natural enemies have been hunted to extinction. Soon they would smoke themselves into extinction if the herds were not culled.) how do you get a Hippy tag? Is there an application process? Is it first come first serve, or are they alloted through a lottery process?

@5 & @6

That's why they're called "Dirty Hippies"...

That and because they manage to give off the stink of several dozen dead animals. A strong, piercing rancid-mustard stink, underscored by the duller stench of sixteen Value Village sofas soaked with whole milk and left to dry in the sun.

Didn't he know that Seattle is a blowgun dart city?

@5, @6, @11 -- Remember: when a gun goes off right next to you, be sure to stop and collect your litter (crap) and deposit it in the correct bins (garbage, recycle, or compost). Then, feel free to exit the scene in a orderly fashion. Meanwhile, the rest of us will be running for our lives.

@14

I'd buy that if the whole fucking Seattle Center weren't buried under mounds of litter after the herds of hippies concluded their swarming rituals and returned to their dens.

And how does that explain the stink (or did they all shit themselves when the gun went off?)

That dude got some badass photos of the chaos, for sure. These aren't the best.

You people suck worse the the "Hippies" trying to enjoy the music outdoors. May you be at a concert and be an innocent bystander and suddenly notice you are bleeding from a gunshot.

I love second photo. It makes me think of the girl kneeling over the body at Kent State or The Last Supper.

It's really one of the best Seattle events. My kids had a great time. I hope Nickels isn't given the opportunity to widely overeact and destroy this too. Guy deserves his job almost as little as the Chimp Chief.

Love the woman with the dog in the second picture keeping the hordes back.

There's one photo at the P-I site that's awesome. It has the perp being led away while some guy in a dragon costume watches. It's sort of surreal.

I like the cop in the second picture. Need a rubdown, Officer Daddy?

These photos are a few days late, and far less interesting than all the others we've seen. Why bother?

Does anyone know whether the Bumbershoot promoters have a policy about where and when persons carrying Glocks will be concentrated as my family hope to enjoy a weekend without sustaining entry/exit wounds?

Planning ahead, being prepared, exercising precautions.
