Nancy's belief system and job were never mentioned by anyone that I knew of, but it was always the elephant in the room when families-- or the Simpsons came up(and at the time it was the early 90s, so they came up a lot).

I did that back in August 2001 when I went to the Hollywood film festival. I stayed at a youth hostel for $16 a night for 3 nights. Gotta love those hookers as bunkmates.
