Hey guys? "Rough sex" involving knives should not be combined with alcohol. Seriously.
I read about this earlier today...amazing.
And Dan, did you see this?

Wonder if she bit off "more than she could chew?"
Canadians can't do anything right. And he expected a woman (a woman!) to pull this off with no error?
It's incredibly difficult to carve your name into someone's heart.
Especially if you're doing it in cursive.
Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba.
Or so it seems from the great 98177.
The sky isn't falling.
Or is it?
Please note that those of us on the coasts often have to disavow the crazy ideas those people in the prairies get in their heads.
}:D
(Seriously, though? knives, hearts, *and* drinking heavily? oh god.)
Isn't this how Elliot Smith died?
This sounds like Darwin Award material, other than the fact that he survived.
This is *so* Guy Maddin.
Canada has prairies? We were taught all it had was snow. And mounties.
Mmmmmm....mounties....
Canadians are lovers, not fighters.
Unless they have to.
I fondly remember my days in middle school, traveling to school by canoe with the friendly Mounties, and living in our log cabins along Kootenay Lake.
Ouch! Heart-shaped ouch!
Setting aside the idiocy of the accident for a minute, why is this woman going to jail? Who is pressing charges? The guy is backing he woman. Is the state stepping in and pressing charges to protect everybody from themselves or what?
Yes, Karey. One downfall of universal public healthcare is that the state gets to protect people from themselves.
I am proud to be Canadian, but that is one bizarre country. And yet they have the rest of the world convinced that they are open minded and polite but also slightly boring...
It's not a universal public healthcare issue, if you assault your SO/spouse in this country police/DA may press charges even if the victim refuses to corporate. Unless of course you're a politician, then you might get away with it.
@2
This was funny:
"And, obviously, he might be walking with a limp. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Salisbury police..."
Re the article @2:
While that girl deserves a medal for bravery, presumably that bite bled a lot. Isn't getting a strange man's blood in your mouth generally a very, very bad idea?
Getting his blood in your mouth seems preferable to his semen in your vagina or anus.
These days, it seems that getting anybody's blood in your mouth, stranger or not, is inadvisable.
But huge applause to the woman for keeping her head, even if her attacker wasn't so lucky.
Every time I read something like this ("no more rough sex for you, Canada"), it just puzzles me. I'm baffled.
Once, in North Dakota, some people were in a car accident. They were being reckless.
No more driving for you, America!
I mean, I just think it's a weird reaction.
@ 19: Yes, except for HIV (and other no-cure fatal blood-borne diseases) it would be preferred.
Agreed @ 18 and 20.
