I've seen lots of rammed earth construction in South America. You build a form for your wall, and then fill it with the right mixture of the right sort of earthy substances and then pound it down with a man-sized pestle. I think the word for this type of building in Spanish is Tapial, but I could be mis-remembering. I've never seen it in this country, though I imagine that it would be very problemmatic in our soupy climate. But West Texas, hey, there's no water there, and no earthquakes, right?

I don't know about media outlets, but I will bet there is a fine local newspaper similar to the Cap. Hill Times. As far as restaurants go there is sure to be a truckstop within a hundred miles, which would be a negligable drive to a West Texan.

No, it's fucking New Hampshire. They have 8338 promises to move in five years. At this rate they will reach their goal in 2015. And if all 20,000 of them do what they said they woudl to, they'll all arrive by 2020.

They were originally supposed to move there within 2 years of getting 20,000 signatures, but they bumped it up to 5 years. And their original goal was to have those 20k signatures by 2006, not 2015.

So, no, they are not on schedule in any sense. I'm sure you were trying to help, not spin.

I'm a teacher who works with kids with mental retardation, and I find it interesting that elenchos is so comfortable enough with the word "retard" to use it against Paul supporters. elenchos (almost forgot to lowercase your name) is truly a mean-spirited hypocrite of the extremist left.

Hudspeth County in West Texas is mostly desert and mountains, and contains the highest point in the state Guadalupe Peak. The real reason for Ron Paul Supporters would move there is to get water rights, which El Paso/Juarez one county over are desparaterly trying to acquire. There is the veneer of earth friendly buildings, but the real ploy is to steal the only water for many miles around and sell it back at an inflated prices, while drying up wetlands in a key migratory corridor.

PJ, the last time I checked, Barack Obama didn't print Rev. Wright's comments under his own name in the "Barack Obama Survival Report," nor did he take credit for the comments as his own when questioned on it. In other words, it's a very poor analogy for what Ron Paul did. Especially since Ron Paul's newsletter had a habit of writing experiences in the first person that were completely specific to Ron Paul, like complaining about the flack he got in his 1988 run for president on the libertarian ticket for voting against MLK Day while in congress. It's pretty odd for an unsanctioned, completely unnamed ghostwriter to come up with such a specific anecdote, don't you think? It's also odd that not one person on Ron Paul's mailing list, including his staff and family, would give Ron Paul a heads up on what was going on in that newsletter. As well as the fact that the people who were in charge of the newsletter back then are still running his campaign to THIS VERY DAY. But yes, let's compare a newsletter that was produced under Ron Paul's name, by Ron Paul's staff, to statement's made by Obama's preacher.

This only makes sense if you don't have to make monthly payments to a bank/moneylender/Arab guar trading co-op to pay for the MANY THOUSANDS of dollars it costs to set up a useful windmill or PV array!
