It's like all the former Bush/McCain staffers who write books telling how they lied us into war, but who were helping them up until the very last minute when they suddenly might have to pay for what they did ...

"Burner spokesman (and former Stranger writer) Sandeep Kaushik says."

A candidate your paper endorsed and a former staff writer?

Nope, no bias there.

@2 - Since when has The Stranger claimed to be unbiased or objective? This paper fairly proudly wears its opinion on its sleeve.

Jeff and I'm a Nuclear Bomb - Check out Reichert's voting pattern yourself. I've made the data available for anyone to see: http://www.kirkdorffer.com/ontheroadto2008/110thReichertFlippedVotes.html

The vast majority of the time Reichert has flipped his support on the final passage vote he has been doing so exactly so he can prop up his credentials so that when these types of rankings come out he gets a more moderate score.

Reichert is on record as saying that party leadership tells him "to vote a certain way". These votes are what he is talking about. As one of a number of endangered Republicans this election season, Reichert is clearly taking self-preservation votes on these bills because his vote won't decide the outcome and is therefore expendable. Party leadership has essentially given him the green light to break ranks for political expediency because the bill will be passing anyway, as all off these bills have.

He's GOP, so he helps the worst antienvironmentalists. End of story.

He's toast, too.

But unPC, don't you feel a little regret? Hillary could have used his vote to pass her gas tax holiday. If a bunch of environmentalists got elected, she would have needed those Republicans to pass her agenda.

It's not like it takes that much to be one of the greenest Republicans.

A green Republican is one who turns off the engine on his 10 mpg SUV after running over a deer over and over and over.

And then smokes a Cuban cigar.

Not just a hypocrite, but a moron too ... that's a green Republican.
