Oh hell yes. Bring it Barack!

Whatever happens this year, I know that (assuming BHO is the nominee) I will not look back as I do at John Kerry in '04 and say "what the hell were Dems thinking with that guy???"

Ridding a country of a dictator who gassed his own people and slaughtered tens of thousands, and now we’re left with a fledgling democracy with a chance for peace. Yep, GWB has a lot to answer for.

Look closely -- the lapel pin says, "I [heart] The Stranger's Political Slant" LOL

Good to see him swinging back -- but will we ever swing FIRST? And must he always swing AT ALL?

I'm reminded of when I was young, driving the neighbors crazy by throwing rock after rock at their back porch window -- throw rock, porch light goes on, door opens and neighbor yells "stop that!"...throw rock, porch light goes on, door opens and neighbor yells "stop that!"...throw rock, porch light goes on, door opens and neighbor yells "stop that!"...over and over and over. The sheer foolishness of these neighbors and their mindless reaction to our taunts made all the fun of it.

Similarly, Obama risks looking like a thin-skinned ninny if he pokes his head out and reacts to everything the R's say about him...but I think this one was worth reacting to.

McCain and Bush. Bush and McCain. Just keep on saying that combo.

The only thing Red Bushies understand is when you crush them underneath your foot and make it obvious you intend to firmly respond to any of their LIES and TRICKERY.

Over. And Over. Again.

I want some of what Raindrop [@2] is on....

I love how he throws down the gauntlet and says "I will debate you on your supposed strong point whenever you want, and I will kick your ass." He should follow that with a "Bring it, Muthafucka" and do that come hither gesture like in the Matrix.

@2: Raindrop, you're either a deliciously subtle troll, or... uh...

Actually, come to think of it, that's really the only thing that makes sense. There's no way that could be an honest comment.

Well played, sir!

He then inadvertently referred to Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as sweetie, and Hillary Clinton then became the 44th President of the United States....

Bring it on GOP!!! Bring it on you bitches!! You are going down, down to your knees before a black man!!!!

I can hardly WAIT until the debates!!! Obama is going to clean up the floor with McCain!!!

@11 -- Kerry cleaned up the floor with Bush in the debates and...

BTW, your cum tastes awful.

@2,

It's charming to see you worry your pretty head over the deaths of precious unborn baybees, but show no concern over the deaths of American soldiers or Iraqi civilians.

Hey, raindrop, how many fetus incubators with precious unborn baybees inside were killed in Bush's war? Maybe that will keep you up at nights.

Oh, and congratulations. Bush has managed to kill a hell of a lot more Iraqis than Saddam did.

Erm rather, Bush has killed more than Saddam massacred.

@7 - I disagree - no, he shouldn't be only reactionary, but this foreign policy turf is rich soil for Barack to put the R's in their place. It's a debate he's itching to have. And every time the R's try to play that tired old "appeaser" card, or otherwise try to paint him as weak on terrorism/"the enemy", he can and should slap them down with the cold hard truth of their dismal record over the last 8 years.

@13/14:

Your non sequitur babbling aside, I'd really like to see a reference that validates your last statement that the number of Iraqis killed by American and coalition forces > the number of Iraqis killed by Saddam during his entire multi-decade regime.

See folks...I knew it would take no time at all for the Republican Leadership to make such an asinine comment that it would bring the Democrats together in our mutual disgust for them.

The Democratic Party is stronger then ever, Obama has toughened his jaw a bit, and McCain and Bush just need to keep talking.

@17

No, raindrop, I assure you, you don't want to see the proof that the invasion has killed more Iraqis than Saddam. When you do see it, you're going to deny it. This is why it's so silly for you to be here hanging out in the reality based community. You're wasting your time, and wasting our time.

@20: Nice spin, but I have no vested interest other than the truth.

No , no, no, no... Human Rights Watch places the high end figure at 250k for 20 years of Saddam. We did 150k or more in only 3 years.

Deny, deny, deny. I so don't want to hear it. You have to go back to vintage Ari Fleischer (that's two flacks ago) to rehash this debate. Short version: The Bushies lost.

@17,

I'd like to see you own up to all the precious unborn baybees killed by Bush's war. Certainly that must bother you.

keshmeshi:

Why are being so mean to me? I haven't said that I'm glad the war happened. I don't discount the horrific blunders Bush/Rumsfeld/Bremer did. But the fact remains that there's reason to be hopeful about Iraq despite it all. Mind your manners and be respectful of your fellow sloggers.

Obama just has to remind everyone, including raindrop, GWB, and McCain, that "there is no military solution to a problem like that in Iraq".

Also, that diplomacy can be forceful and aggressive, but appeasement is something different altogether from "talking". Unless Ahmadinejad has a $20m bet with GWB on whether or not there will be attempted conflict resolution.
