Comments on Alternatively, On Mother's Day: Chuck Close

The word "genius" gets thrown around a lot, but in Close's case it's true. He is possessed by a spirit of exceptional ability and intelligence. And the dude kept working even when paralyzed from the neck down! A genius! Sadly I'll miss this talk, but I'm looking forward to your report.

I'm gonna agree with Gurldoggie here. Close is a maniac of ideas. Daguerrotypes are a cool idea; running them through a jacquard loom -- one of the coolest things ever invented -- is sublime.
