UGH. It makes it so much creepier when you refer to bedbugs as "Blood-Bugs".

Nighty Night- don't let the blood-bugs bite!

I personally like to call Mosquitoes the Vampires of the Night ...

In related news, 100 million kids aged 0-5 died from Malaria while we freaked over bedbugs on trains.

Bedbugs are notoriously difficult to eradicate. They can live for a year or more without feeding and can hide in the seam of a suitcase so they are easily spread. I spray my luggage with deet and put it in sealed plastic bags whenever I return from a trip in SE Asia. New York has a bedbug epidemic, entire buildings are infested. Even a rumor that an single apt. in a building is infested can cause prospective buyers or renters to back out of a deal.

Hmmm... a clever lead-in to finally eradicate the last of NY homeless no doubt?

Do they know their bed-bugs? The lower wooden benches at Husky Stadium (last time I was there 10 years ago anyhow) are totally infested with tiny insects. Anyone else notice this? I thought that was normal for something so old.

Jeebuz, if bed-bugs are the worst thing that can be picked up from a NY subway bench, I'd say those commuters should count themselves lucky.
