There are stencils in Barcelona that would blow your mind; tags in Tokyo that would take your breath away; murals in Mexico City that would make you cry. Graffiti doesn't flourish in Seattle because of the abundant idiots who equate cleanliness with culture. Writers here have little chance to hone their skills when know-nothings like Will call the authorities at the first sign of art outside the lines.

However, I'm heartened by the amount of graf I'm seeing recently. Tags and cool images seem to be popping up (and sticking!) in Seattle for the first time in recent memory, and it bodes well for a colorful future.
