Trophy Cupcakes, Seattle’s most delicious cupcakery (sorry, Cupcake Royale), will be featured on tomorrow’s Martha Stewart Show, when Trophy owner Jennifer Shea shares a new S’mores cupcake recipe and frosting-rosette tips with America’s most well-organized ex-con.

The Seattle P-I has the full story on how Jennifer met Martha here. (And if you want to help Trophy celebrate their media triumph, the Wallingford shop will be replaying Shea’s segments on Martha and serving free mini-cupcakes and punch at 5 pm tomorrow.)

Well, Trophy's cupcakes are fine, but a bit light and airy. (Cupcake Royale's are also that way.)

If you like dense, rich more European-style cupcakes, which is the only kind, with similar frosting, which is the only kind, you need to try them at Cafe Javasti (Maple Leaf and Wedgwood). But they don't have them every day.

"most well-organized" = = "best organized". Am I wrong, dude?

Also, the biggest question is whether either of them have attempted maple-bacon cupcakes.

European style cupcakes. Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Trophy needs new locations. I keep trying to go to the one in Wallingford, but I don't have a kid in a stroller.

Hungry today in the Stranger offices? This is the fifth picture of food today, and it's barely noon.

Am I the only one for whom large chunks of Slog text keep vanishing today whenever I mouse over them?

European style cupcakes go better with a strong tea or some coffee, whereas light cupcakes are best served with milk.

Yeah, what's the deal with the text disappearing when I mouse over it? I thought it was my work computer because it's extremely slow anyway, but others apparently have that issue, too.

Hi, people with Slog problems and the disappearing text. Tell me: which browser and OS are you using?

@9: IE, 6 I think? Not 7, we don't have tabs. And Windows XP. I've had that problem for a long time, though I have not noticed a pattern as to when it happens and why.

Trophy cupcakes are good, but not worth $3.00 each. (And they point their noses in the air if you ask if there is a price break for buying multiple dozens of their cupcakes for parties...like these are "gourmet" cupcakes, how dare you ask such a question.)

I perfer the PCC vegan mini cupcakes, anyway.

Just Desserts make the best cupcakes I've ever had.

Cupcake Royale is the best cupcake venue.

I have to try Trophy.

You should use Firefox, @9.

Cupcake Royale is so overrated. Stale and dry cupcakes that have been sitting out all day. I can't wait to try Trophy.

I don't mind paying $3 for cupcakes. I've had their cupcakes before and they're probably the best so far. I do feel sorry for the owner having to pay the ridiculous rent in the Wallingford Center. I've heard first-hand reports from people complaining of the asshole, who manages that building, and the amount of rent that he charges that he loves to raise whenever he desires to. I live in Wallingford and there aren't that many businesses that've stayed there for years because of the property manager's greedy side.

I love Trophy, but hate Wallingford. AM I the only one? I do agree, another on another Trophy location in a more anti-family space. I don't know what that means, I just don't want to be part of the village it takes to raise those sugar-addled brats. And hey, did you all have Trophy at the Genius awards? I never found out whos cupcakes those were.

Trophy is great (with a name that makes me think otherwise). Cupcake Royale is a fantastic name (with cupcakes that don't live up to the name - dry and day-old tasting at all times). Good luck to jennifer Shea tomorrow!

Oh, amd I also wanna know about the disappearing text. This happens every coupld of months, it seems. My work uses xp and IE 6 and is not going to change to Firefox.

I hope Jennifer gives massive kudos to her staff...whoever is managing the kitchen and came up with the recipes, etc., is awesome!

Cupcake Royale-how can a snack cake be both greasy and dry?

Trophy-good, not great

Homemade-the best!

Sadly, I work at a government institution and can only use the deplorable Microsoft Exploder. I can go home, though, and read the Slog gladly on Firefox or Safari.

Cupcake Royale's cupcakes are drier than a hooker's poon after a gangbang. Why people rave about Cupcake Royale, I have no idea.

Trophy, though... eating a cupcake from Trophy is like eating a piece of heaven.

Cupcake Royale has awesome cupcakes. The chocolate cupcakes with coconut frosting are addictive. Who has time to make cupcakes anyway?

seriously? cupcake royale f'ing rocks. i'm sure they're responsible for at least 25 lbs of my body. i might have a cupcake addiction. red velvet with cream cheese? actually anything with their cream cheese. sorry but coupled with stumptown coffee and funny baristas, i end up spending way too much time there. i'll add trophy to my list of "to try", but i'll always cupake royale.

If nothing else, Trophy cupcakes is WAY better than the Cupcake Royale in West Seattle. It was never clear to me if they were all made in Ballard and shipped over.

The mini, green tea cupcakes are like little delightful pieces of macha-flavored heaven.

Having been a huge fan of Cupcake Royale for over 4 years...I have tried others attempts at a good cake...NY Cupcake doesn't compare at all...incredibly dry and lacks flavor and it's located in two story busy mall...no. Trophy cupcake is incredibly cutesy and does have pretty cupcakes but they are not nearly as tasty as Cupcake Royale and what is up with all of the different frostings? If you want consistently great cupcakes that never disappoint...all made with buttercream frosting located in convenient places...CUPCAKE ROYALE REDEFINES SCRUMPTIOUS!

I'm sorry -- I've had both. Cupcake Royale is really good. Trophy - is just better. Many better creative "holiday themed" --- the PB&J is incredible, the Chai is a certain winner -- And I love the Guiness stout cake with Irish Cream frosting on St Patricks day.... The Red Velvet is my favorite. If you're really serious about the European Cupcakes - try a brownie. Sorry trophy - you're good! Not as good

Cupcake Royale rocks. Trophy sucks. My friend and I went there one day to get a cupcake - couldn't find anything simple. I just wanted a vanilla cupcake with mint frosting, you know, like you get at Cupcake Royale. Peppermint Party. Ahhh. But instead ... we had to choose from an array of hyped up flavors ... like fucking PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY. I mean come on, if I want a sandwich I'll get a sandwhich. I eventually settled on some stupid "18 Ways to Die from Chocolate Poisoning" or something ... you know, to give the secretaries something to talk about when they go back to work, about how "naughty" they were at lunch. Anyway, now I want a cupcake. And Cupcake Royale is closed. I'm sad.

Uh, half of Trophy's flavors, just like Cupcake Royale's are basic vanilla/chocolate combos. People are such assholes. To everyone above: both of these businesses are run by PEOPLE who put their money on the line only for your shitty, arrogant asses to make stupid, uninformed, mean spirited, nothing near constructive comments???? And I want to slap every one of you, channel your anger into something more worthy, like the war in Iraq. Fucking hipsters, I wish you'd all choke on some buttercream and I don't care whose or how minty it is.
