However, Democratic lands commissioner candidate Peter Goldmark (thank god someone is running hard against GOP incumbent Doug "Washington Aggregate & Concrete Association" Sutherland) is now using the tactic himself. Goldmark, who ran and lost badly to U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-5) in '06, lives in eastern Washington, and hyped that fact at his Seattle kickoff. However, in another role reversal, the GOP fired off a press release today condemning Goldmark's "divisive" ploy of pitting urban against rural voters. Ha.
