Anal rape.
Yeah, you're a regular Willy Loman, bro.
Wait... other people are getting PAID to blog?
I see the money they pay me to comment on the Slog as nothing more than a gratuity. Pin money. But I can imagine it wouldn't be healthy if I tried to make a living this way.
As noted in the article, perhaps "sweat shops" would be the more appropriate term.
I'm with you Elenchos. Bit at least they're paying us SOMETHING. I couldn't imagine writing Slog comments all day for FREE. ~shudder~

All I know is, if I had kids, they'd be in private school, and it's Slog commenting that makes that possible.
Clearly you've never sold shoes -- it can be VERY good living.
Shhh, getting paid to post on Slog is supposed to be a secret...
Hey look, my "word of the day" is totally about bloggers:
luftmensch:
an impractical contemplative person having no definite business or income
@7 - Nice try, Gurldoggie. That only counts as one post.
I thought they got paid per comment and that's why annie started with the Obama stuff since the movie and art pots weren't getting any hits.
@13 - sorry, I was busy - now you see why I try to post in the movie and arts posts, because once somebody posts, other people get interested.
And you thought I (a) got paid and (b) loved to fp ... nah, I do it because it's an interesting topic ...
....but mainly because everyone's entitled to your Penelope opinion....
Being a blogger is probably more like MAKING shoes. But shoes that only get sold in a store filled with other shoes that people made themselves, at home late at night, or in coffee shops.
I believe a shoe salesman at Nordstrom was actually the highest paid retail employee in Washington at one time. Not at all like being at the end of a long tail.
Dude what you do is a mild form of plagiarism. You rearrange the words so you aren't REALLY copying. Or add a sentence before a gigantic block quote. ETC.
get over yourself
