Ugh. April isn’t turning out pretty for the M’s.

Well, at least we didn't have to give anything up for him.
And here I thought all Slog readers were Socialists (or at least they think they are) who hate sports.
It's like Jen Graves will say "painter" or "sculptor" and Paul Constant will say "novelist" or "poet" but sports are so fucking important to the fate of the universe that there is never any need to bother with saying "baseball" or "football". It's arrogant as hell.
is this Slog or KJR? every major pro team in town has been discussed on here today.
what were you expecting from the Mariners anyway? achievement?
At least it's not like Adam Jones went 3 for 3 yesterday with a walk and a stolen base.
Oh, he DID go 3 for 3 yesterday with a walk and a stolen base.
Let the R.A. Dickey era begin!
And let the Arthur Rhodes era recommence!
At least we all know that Ms management is REALLY ON THE HOT SEAT this year. No, they really mean it this season! The team really should try to improve to at least a few games above .500 or someone might have to worry about possibly maybe theoretically having it discussed in the local media that they should be potentially fired. And that could be embarrassing.
At least I got to see probably their best game of the season on Saturday, on an awesome 80 degree night. Beer, garlic fries, and seats close enough to third base that I could taunt Chone Figgins all night.
Big fucking surprise.
I do want to see the Dickey knuckleball. I just like saying that. Dickey knuckleball.
Bedard's sore hip aside (do I hear the naysaying strains of the waaaaaambulance in the comments?), the M's need to show more overall consistency team-wide.
They're playing it safe. There's some small amount of depth in the starting staff.
Jones homered and walked twice in today's game, too. Has anyone mentioned that he plays outstanding defense in the outfield? But, you know, he's just a prospect. There's no way anyone could have known that he'd be good.
Sherrill leads the majors in saves, too. But, you know, he's not a PROVEN STARTER or even a PROVEN CLOSER.
I don't care about Sherril and Whatsis. I'll root for 'em a little, sure. Bedard has a sore hip. I have a sore hip. I have kind of a sore back, too. Rick White's dyed billy goat, combined with the performance he doled out in order to back that thing up was is way worse for a team in a way that's more important to me than Bedard's sore hip and a yet to be determined season.
We can only hope the hip injury isn't serious. But from the way Bedard was joking in the dugout with Washburn at today's game, it doesn't look like he's in any serious discomfort.
Well, he's on the DL retroactive to April 9th, so he's eligible to come back a week from tomorrow. The Dickey knuckleball era may only last one start.
Go Sox!
Even after yesterday's game Adam Jones has 1 HR and 3 RBI, and brought his average up from .211 a couple of days ago to all of .279. Let's not order his Cooperstown plaque just yet.
