Mariners 4, Baltimore 5

posted by on April 7 at 15:40 PM

Swept by the Orioles? Ugh. What an ugly weekend (and Monday). Still, Dave at U.S.S. Mariner points out:

…the team has been outscored by a whopping two runs in seven games. If you break an ankle jumping off the bandwagon now, itís going to be harder to climb back on with a gimpy wheel when the breaks start going the Mís way.

Here’s hoping those breaks start going our way soon.

Win or lose I'm on the Mariner bandwagon, but this bullpen scares the hell out of me!

if you jump off the bandwagon now, you might actually get the chance to root for a winner within your lifetime.

The Os always start off hot. And then they fall apart. I've never figured out why. But this means nothing.

The bandwagon is a turnip truck.

There's a Mariner bandwagon?

@5 its two dudes from Renton in a rusted out Daewoo.

The bandwagon is you guys, thinking that our chances of success have been changed by the results of these first few games. They haven't. We've lost a few dice rolls; we'll win some too. One-run games are exactly that: 100% chance.

That said, I was a skeptic long before these games came along. My opinion is unchanged: we will suck, but moderately.

Losing a bunch of one or two run games is typical of a team with no bullpen.

Posted by Mahtli69 | April 7, 2008 4:53 PM

no need to worry, but our useless bullpen better wake up. felix pitched a masterpiece and the bull pen was completely absent. hell, i could have pitched a better game.

and in case you twats did not know, baseball is about losing.

Truer words were never spoken.

We're seven games in. The M's have a lot of time to undo the damage.

Also, IIRC the M's were shitty out of the gate last year too, and they still got as far as 22 games over .500 while making a serious playoff run.

That said, in light of the comments about the shitty bullpen, one of the parts we gave away in the offseason for Erik Bedard, George Sherrill, closed out 3 of those 4 Mariner losses for Baltimore.

It's never funny for anyone when you shit your pants way too early.

Doesn't Oklahoma City need a big league baseball team?
