Anyone want to bet Hillary is going to pull a Leibermann and run as an independent this fall?

A Pelosi endorsement for Obama? Could Hillary make it happen?

It is disturbing how much Hillary Clinton has embraced the Republican Culture Wars language of the last thirty years. Stockholm Syndrome?

maybe her new friends rupert murdoch and richard mellon scaife told her to say that.

No it's fine. She was nice to them while she was campaigning for the California primary and that's what matters. Californians are free to do whatever because Hils doesn't need them any more, and they don't need her.

Well, other than maybe her Bay Area convention delegates. But I'm sure none of them would take offense would they?

@1 - That's some scary shit, but I wouldn't put it beyond her. It would explain why she's continuing to run despite being so far down in delegates.

It totally pisses me off the way politicians, the media, and "heartland" folks feel free to bash on America's cities so freely. Sometimes it's overt; sometimes it's by implying that "real" America is Indiana or Nebraska and not New York or San Francisco or L.A. or Seattle or whatever.

America's urban areas generate most of America's tax revenue and wealth, as well as most of its arts and culture.

Heartland folks are both hyper-sensitive and hypocrites. They are hyper-sensitive, b/c they so easily take offense at "elite" city folks looking down on them. They are hypocrites b/c they freely bash city dwellers (often with thinly veiled homophobic subtexts in the case of S.F.) without a second thought.

@7, blame the electoral college. It's so much more profitable electorally to lick the ass of your average Nebraskan than your average Californian.

Yeah, those dumb hicks.

Hillary's not bashing cities with her San Francisco remarks. She's playing the gay card against Obama.
By the way, this Jed Report video of young Hillary vs. old Hillary is marvelously telling. She's become everything she once despised.

zzzzzzzzzzzz"A study released by the RAND Corporation reports that 300,000 U.S. troops deal with depression or post traumatic stress disorder and 320,000 suffered brain injuries stemming from their service in Iraq and Afghanistan."zzzzzzzzzz

Now after that brief pause a return to entertainment by the savage warmongers at The Stranger.

@5,

She still needs their money.

While I have no love for Hillary at this point, she's not going to pull a Lieberman. She's perfectly aware that she has no chance of winning a three-way presidential race. And an attempt would kill any chance at running for president in 2012.

I believe he city/county of San Francisco voted overwhelmingly for Obama in the primary.

Sounds like she's the one that might be a tad bitter.

Oh, and the gays that voted for her overwhlemingly in SF and CA in general...they are unfailingly self serving, short sighted, and apparently stupid.

I don't think her SF comments are just a gay thing, but really just a reach for an "all things leftist" caricature. It's as equally true, and untrue, as Obama's Pennsylvania townies comment.

I doubt any "Bay Area" delegates will take offense either, because most of the Bay sees San Francisco like the rest of America does, only worse, because they've tried parking here.
