Anderson (former Whitney director over Rinder and current Indianapolis Museum of Art head) let it drop a few minutes ago in a podcast I did with him while he was in Seattle for a public talk. He said the appointment was made official tonight. Now, I really am not invested in any of this but I'm happy if a good leader has gone to a good arts organization.

What I am invested in, however, is the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I remember, as a boy of 11, attending the welcome party for Robert Indiana's LOVE sculpture. I remember being introduced to the works of J.M.W. Turner, T.C. Steele, and being allowed by my parents to check out works from the rental gallery for a month. One of my most cherished acquisitions is a signed Robert Indiana print of his IMA inaugural exhibitions poster.

The anthology gathers texts commissioned for, occasioned by, or just vaguely related to the back room series of talks and dinners, in Portland.
