Is he strong? Listen, bud! He’s got radioactive blood.

Ain’t It Cool News has a link to Michael Chabon’s early draft of a screenplay for Spider-Man 2. It’s not bad—a little slow—but at least his Spider-Man tries to crack wise, which is something that the movies never really got a handle on.

This is also good inspiration for people who are doing Script Frenzy, the write-a-film-script-in-a-month exercise. If Chabon can write a rough script that weighs in at a super-unwieldy 250 pages, 100 pages in a month is no big damn deal at all.

(Thanks to Slog Tipper Brad Steinbacher, who I think just didn’t want to let the world know that he reads Ain’t It Cool News.)

Can't you just link to the script here, Paul, so I don't have to visit *shudder* AICN to see it? I'm intrigued to read Chabon's take, since I suspect that the most charming bits of that movie were his.

Poor Brad, giving in to bloated and extremely uncool Harry Knowles. :(

No big deal if Chabon can do it, huh? You mean the Pullitzer Prize winner? The guy whose whole life and career is centered around writing?

Good point. I'll just quit my 50 hour/week job, drop my 10 credits of night school, and pound out 100 pages this month for Script Frenzy. No big damn deal at all.

(I kid. But seriously, it *is* a big damn deal!)

I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Tenacious D's Spiderman/Sasquatch fights at their concerts are hilarious.
