Drinking a cap of bleach doesn't kill you?

Fuck overhauling sex-ed. What all middle schools need is a class in basic rational thinking. Kids should be asking, 'by what mechanism does the bleach prevent HIV transmission?' This kind of magical-thinking should have been stamped out by the 6th grade.

@10 It can go either way. I think Gloria was referring to the fitness reducing effect of drinking bleach. I was referring to the boosting of reproduction by not educating your kids about birth control.

having grown up in florida, i honestly remember no sex education at all, not even abstinence-only. the closest we got was being taken to the local hospital in 7th grade, where the girls and boys were separated. who knows what the boys went through, but the girls were shown aborted fetuses in jars and then they explained how tampons work.

they might be that stupid. but that doesn't mean they really do those things. well, maybe if they are desperate. i remember the rumor that having sex in a hot tub would prevent pregnancy. this, of course, from a bunch of seventh graders who didn't even have the possibility of having sex -- let alone access to a hot tub for such activities.
