But your continued use of "rap" harms your credibility a great deal, Soul Brother Number One.

Of course, you realize you're now obliged to attack ECB at every opportunity....

@2 Nice!

Why is SLOG so defensive today? Dan starts out all defensive about not seeing every clip available on the internet, ECB is defensive about her transit positions, and now you're apologizing for, what, being involved in the primaries?

Yes, why so defensive?

The Stranger endorsement of Obama article was one of the best "in a nutshell" arguments as to why he is the better choice I've read anywhere. I sent it to my on-the-fence parents in New Mexico and it tipped my Dad but not my Mom (the Richardson endorsement did that).

@4

He isn't apologizing. This is just one of the (many, I'm sure) conceited posts you will see before he leaves. Just ignore them.

BS, you did disclose this in the comments section of a Slog post right after the Washington caucuses.

Why so defensive? Why can't you like both Clinton and Obama? I do.

I am supporting Obama but let's get serious...the man is not a "flaming liberal"

I take big issue with people selling Obama as a "flaming liberal". In terms of his voting record and his policy achievements there is absolutely NOTHING to back that up.

If he is able to stop being the next John Kerry and actually get himself elected, I predict he will not actually get anything done in his first term and will likely try to 'build bridges' with the R's.

S'ok. Just avoid using the title "Journalist" and there won't be any issues.

"He’s a flaming liberal."

this is inconsistent with the notion he can win.

Please explain how the Democrats have consistently won when their candidate is viewed as, painted as and more or less is, a liberal, including

Humphrey
Mondale
McGovern
Kerry
Gore
Dukakis
Stevenson

JRK won by lying about a missile gap and being more right wing than Nixon. LBJ was big bubba redneck. Carter was honesty, very southern, not too liberal. Clinton was the centrist.

Obama: his pastor hates America, he thinks conservative democrats have false consciousness and cling to god and guns due to economic hard times.

totally liberal dude.

loser..............

He's too liberal. He's too centrist. He's really a conservative. He's too elitist. He's too arrogant. He's too aloof. He's too wonkish. He's not wonkish enough. He doesn't show enough specific policy. He panders to the religious. He doesn't pander to the religious enough. He only appeals to latte liberals. He only appeals to red state voters. He only appeals to blacks. He only appeals to states that don't matter. Republicans won't like him. Republicans will like him too much. He's sexist. He's racist. He hates old people. He's a cult leader. He won't inspire people. He's too slick. He's too clumsy.

If he has any sense, he won't listen to any of you.

Josh - I know you think that the Slog is just an opinion page, but you're The Stranger's news editor. The fact that you were a Clinton delegate plus news editor at a newspaper without disclosing that to your readers just seems sketchy. I've never taken any Journalism classes, so I have no idea as to the ethics on it, but that really seems like something you would disclose, independent of whether you post on Slog or not.

@16

Feit details his work to ensure he will have a link for everything. He's not always honest with his readers. It's called being a hack. Which is what he is.

Bullshit Mr. Feit. I have always thought you were mediocre at best. Now I think you are mediocre and slimy. This epitomizes your lame "journalistic talents". Disclosure is important.
PS- Can't wait to see your post retirement novel!

I agree with #16, it crossed the line (is there even a line at the Stranger, is seems like there probably isn't) for Josh to be a delegate (for anyone) and continue to write about the election without disclosing that fact. To argue that it's OK because you were mostly pro-Obama is a lame excuse.

If he didn't disclose it, then how come I knew he was a Clinton delegate? It was on Slog. And no, I'm not going to link to it because I don't have time to scroll back through the archives to the posts in question. But it was disclosed, trust me.

What is irritating is that he feels he needs to defend himself at all. Ridiculous. It shows you what the level of discourse on the blog has deteriorated to.

@20

He never disclosed that he was a Clinton delegate, you moron. And yes, you did try a search. You just couldn't find it.

Okay here's the link:

http://slog.thestranger.com/2008/02/what_he_said_31

Go to comment 34. I understand that the comments section is not probably the ideal place for Josh to disclose this. However, I'm pretty sure he talked about it in an actual Slog post as well, a couple of days later.

And go fuck yourself, Poe.

Posted by Blacksheep | April 15, 2008 10:39 AM

Make that "probably not" instead of "not probably" in my last post.

Posted by Blacksheep | April 15, 2008 10:40 AM
24

So go find that post, Mr. Pretty Sure.

Posted by Mr. Poe | April 15, 2008 10:42 AM
25

Sorry, but a comment deep in a Slog posting is not appropriate disclosure. If you're writing on political issues and you have that level of ties with a candidate it needs to be revealed very clearly in any political articles.

Posted by notgoodenough | April 15, 2008 11:00 AM

Don't even bother, Mr. Pretty Sure. It doesn't exist. If you know anything about Josh Feit, you'd know that if he had disclosed it, it would be linked. Right here. In this fucking post.

Notice how that link isn't in the post, but an "apology" following his own disclosure that he never has is.

Durrr.

That's Ms. Pretty Sure to you. It is possible I may be mistaken about it being in an actual Slog post. I looked, but I didn't find anything except what was in the comments. That coupled with Josh's frequent defense of Clinton, is likely what made me think he had disclosed it in a proper Slog post.

But whatever. I don't get into arguments with people (like you Mr. Poe) on internet boards. Was it disclosed or not? Yes it was. Was it properly disclosed? Probably not. Really, I don't care.

If he was an Obama delegate, you wouldn't even give a shit.

Posted by Blacksheep | April 15, 2008 12:28 PM

Given Josh's sordid pro-Hillary past, we cannot be certain that he really supports Obama unless and until he calls Erica a poopy-head.

@27

If he was an Obama delegate, you wouldn't even give a shit.

Now go fish for why you're wrong again. Sheesh.
