Should be "hmm", unless they were humming this idea as a hymnal or something...

To make them think what? Spurious bullshit connections between a generally decent dude and a nasty-ass terrorist mastermind? Yeah, that's not racial or political at all.

Next week:

HILLARY HELLFIRE
ARE THEY RELATED

This whole post made me think. Because Charles posted it and I understood it. I wish he'd thrown in a picture of an astronaut or an existential quote or something.

Wanting to understand the mood in the rest of the country, not just here in Seattle, I spent a lot of time this past week reading the media and blogs on both conservative and liberal websites from all around the country. And I've got to tell you, this sign is just a fraction of what the conservatives are going to be pulling.

Not meant to be racial or political, eh?

Yeah....right.

And if I take a crap on the church's front yard, it's not meant to be an insult, I'm just fertilizing the lawn.

This pastor is on the right track. The Negro much like the Muslim cannot be trusted with the security of this nation which Barry Osama obviously hates. That's why his racist misogynistic campaign is routinely losing to McCain in several dozen states.

Not that he'll make it that far. Barry Hussein Osama is losing this race by every metric that matters. We all know the people who run this party are going to make the right decision and give Hillary the nomination to which she is rightfully entitled.

If you Kool-aid drinkers aren't careful, President Hillary will obliterate you just like she'll wipe out everyone in Iran next year. It's not too late to make a show of loyalty. Don't say you weren't warned.

Yeah, AMB. Has anybody here been to SC lately? The place is rife with Confederate flags flyin', good ole boys wearin' teeshirts that read,"Fresh Yankee Served Daily"; the Lt. Governor is a gynecologist who don't believe in that there E-volution.
There are some "blue spots" in the SE, like Atlanta, Durham-Raleigh, Auburn, most university towns, but yep, it's really like a backwards country. And a lot of them want it that way.

The WSPA-TV web site to which this post is linked shows four anchors, all caucasian. According to the U.S. Census, South Carolina is 69% white and 29% black. For the sake of our African American brothers and sisters in the South, I am glad we didn't let the Confederate states secede, but I sure as hell wish we'd had 100 years of reconstruction after the war at home rather than trying to establish it now in Iraq.

@12

weren't me.

If you read it you will see it makes none of the points I usually make.

Interesting how a few of you were duped, and how someone feels so threatened they have to lie in this way.

Here's a point by point rebuttal -- skip it if you don't care:

"This pastor is on the right track."

Usually I point out how Obama flaws and limitations affect his electability without opining on whether or not swing voters are right to think the way they do.

"The Negro much like the Muslim"

WTF? I never talk like that. Usually I say things like we have had centuries of racism I wish Obama would actually propose doing somethign about it like working to ensure drug felons get back their voting rights or that AAs in DC and all DC residents have voting rights as it is RACIST to not allow this.

"cannot be trusted with the security of this nation"
a slanderous jab.

"which Barry Osama obviously hates."

Hey I've never called him Osama and believe I called him Barry only once.

I've generally pointed out true facts like he hands out with the anti American Rev. Wright etc. not that he hates America.

"That's why his racist misogynistic campaign"

fightin words, Mr. coward steal-my-ID.

Never said his campaign was misogynistic though think that comment about throwing kitchen plates bordered on it....usually have said some folks who oppose HRC show misogyny esp. when they make fun of things like her not having a penis.

Ha, ha ha.

"is routinely losing to McCain in several dozen states."

Um, haven't said several dozen have said appears to be losing based on current polling data in OH and FL and MO and VA and doing less well than HRC in PA. and other factual statements. Usually I have cited the polls. The problem is this:

in Jan. Obama folks loved talking about electability citing polls and stuff.

Now they don't.

"Not that he'll make it that far. Barry Hussein Osama is losing this race by every metric that matters."

Um, this is not reflective of what I say. Usually I say he'll win the nomination....been sayin' that since about 3.5....

Usually note he's ahead in pledeged delegates and will eke it out via pledged delegates.

YEs, have derided the use by BHO of the "how m many states I've won" metric.

Yes, agreed that popular vote was relevant...HRC won it on Supper Tuesday....it's still relevant....usually I refer ot "yardsticks such as this or that" to indicate why shit yeah they're mostly all relevant.

Yawn. What a caricature.

" We all know the people who run this party are going to make the right decision and give Hillary the nomination to which she is rightfully entitled."

Um, nope been saying (a) Obama will get the nod and (b) haven't ever said HRC entitled. But it seems simply presenting facts and arguments angers some Obamaton so much he or she has to usurp the unPc moniker and spew a bunch of lies you fucking poltroon douchebag whoever you are.

"If you Kool-aid drinkers"
yes refer to Kool Aid drinking....when it seems apt...

"aren't careful, President Hillary will obliterate you just like she'll wipe out everyone in Iran next year."

Yawn. Can't you do better than that?

"It's not too late to make a show of loyalty."

Au contrarie dipshit, I have often invoked unity by pointing out:

(a) Obama will win it
(b) he needs HRC supporterss' votes to beat McCAin
(c) floating HRC as VP will help get that unity
(d) seating FL and MI will vurnish his image, make him look presidential, and guess what shit for brains, he'll stil be ahead in pledged delegates so it won't hurt him any.

"Don't say you weren't warned."

A rather pitiful caricature, designed to slander and not meet any arguments. You don't seem to realize that once one accepts the math and belives Obama is going to get the nod then

it's still ok to talk about his flaws

his limitatons

how he could run his campaign better

and how he might exert himself a bit more to try to win in the Fall?

Because all the OBama supporters on this site seem to resolutely ignore the fact he's ten points down in FL he's also down in OH he nabs Pa. by a slimmer margin than HRC he does not get MO he does not get VA and I think in the last post a few days ago he does not get NM he's only two fucking points ahead in MA that totally sucks he does not get KS either in other words:

this whole idea he'll be Vastly More Electable turns out to have been a myth.

And for pointing out these facts, this is the retaliation one gets.

What a fucktard. You're proving the overall point" certain Obama folks are living in a Kool Aid imbibing bubble in which contrary info is verboten.

Really reminds me of those Catholic nuns who used to teach me....also not very humorous or interesting....
so sorry to everyone for the long boring reply but there it is.

I guess the fake unPC is bothered by the fact I said:

why can't Obama win in Pa., why isn't he the one 6 points up, if he's so electable?

The sooner we all realize his true electability the sooner we can all start doing something about it and guess what:

moaning about HRC not giving him a free pass doesn't do jack shit.

I have provided an idea that is intended to help Obama get more votes...there are plenty others....but pissing on HRC or on facts supportive of HRC is just the most stupid childish idiotic brain deprived approach one can take.

It's rather old style politics, and it's not about unity, and lying ain't hope neither.

"Obamatons", "obamabots", "kool aid", blah blah. yawn.

Its pretty funny how HRC cleans up the uneducated rural rube vote, yet it is Obama supporters who are the unthinking herd. right. Oh and your girl HRC and her Rove playbook of campaign tacticts is doing nothing to hurt Obama or the party in the upcoming general too. Keep telling yourself that, UnPC.

We've obviously realized that Hillary Clinton is the best choice to lead this country and the sooner that boy Obama gets out of the way, the better for our way of life.

If new style politics means putting a pro-african american liberal in the White House and praying to Mecca, then count me out.

Instead of attcking me, you should get youe own username and go aftetr the kool-aid drinkers with me and Larry. I'm not threatened by you I see great potential in you if you focus that rage in its proper direction - towards Obambi and his cultists.

It's rather old style politics, and it's not about unity, and lying ain't hope neither.

Perpetuating my belief that religion is ignorance. For those of you who did not click the link to read the whole story: "Pastor Byrd told News Channel 7 he would ask his congregation to vote on whether to keep the sign. They voted unanimously to keep the sign up Sunday night." Fuck those people and everyone else who can't think for themselves.

@29&30 - chances are that the pastor at that church in Louisiana holds the same opinion though - it's in north LA, where the education system sucks even more than in the rest of the state and they haven't quite gotten word of the key civil rights legislation and decision yet.

Of course, I live in Baton Rouge, where the school system just settled a 40 year old desegregation suit last year, so there is no room to talk.

@ 17: You win. Clearly. Though i think it's "Abel" if that was the other joke you wanted to make.

Also, if this display was in academia, a different but similar field, or even a more liberal church (as opposed to one in the backwaters of SC) I think it would be a compelling topic, because it plays off of the inherent racism of the viewing public, but then it also references the belief in Christianity that all men are brothers, at least metaphorically speaking. I think the truly interesting thing about the issue is that in a different setting, the same sign could actually provide a framework for some positive discourse to take place.

This racist hick, however, disgusts me.

Pastor Byrd's middle name is Jewayne. Sounds like Dwayne. Maybe he's related to that guy on What's Happening?
