Let me get this straight, they are running out of people to serve in the military and yet they are booting someone who wanted to serve just because he's an atheist. That's bogus. And what about Jewish or Muslim soldiers are they facing similar persecution?

@5: No, nobody is being kicked out of the army for being an atheist. The story is about how Jeremy Hall is suing the Army for allowing him to be harassed like this.

I'm an Army officer, and an atheist, and although there are some obvious problems with the pro-Christian culture in the military, they're generally pretty good about disciplining assholes like this Major Welborn once someone complains.
