From the reader reviews of The Stranger’s restaurant guide, a bracing assessment of North Shore Hawaiian Barbecue:
The Stranger’s review of this place was pretty spot on, except for the bit on the Mac Salad. It didn’t need a few shakes of salt and pepper… it needed to have its cage cleaned out. Seriously, it tasted like how the zoo smells. And not the part of the zoo where they charge you $10 for a crappy caesar salad and it smells like old hot dogs. No, I’m talking about the part of the zoo where the hippos wallow in their own shit and fuck each other. Yeah, it tasted like that.

Agreed, I had food there one time and it pissed me off when I had to throw it out as it was unedible.
I had such high hopes, but I'm afraid I have to add my voice to the chorus of woe. That building is truly cursed.
Can we expect new (free) ads and a updated review of North Shore Hawaiian BBQ in the next edition of the Stranger?
We ate there a few weeks ago and it was pretty tasty, so I don't know what was wrong when that reviewer was there. Maybe it depends on what you get.
But I will add that Medina has a point -- the place just opened, so why not give them a couple months to get settled before reviewing them?
my god, that sounds spot on like the food at my brother's wedding. the chicken somehow managed to be exactly redolent of the local petting zoo. i still marvel how they pulled it off. even half drunk, i've never made chicken even remotely like it.
