Does the fact that they are latino's living on Beacon Hill have anything to do with it?

Or is it just because they are breeders?

This whole article is racist. I mean everyone knows it is culturally acceptable in Mexico to beat your wife. All you ethnocentric white folks need to take some sensitivity classes to better learn that domestic violence is an acceptable Hispanic demonstration of love in a relationship.

Geesshhh

Oh I forgot: "In 2001, when the couple lived in Alaska, Bonilla allegedly beat his then-pregnant wife so badly, he broke her nose. He also allegedly threatened to stab her to death."

At least he carried through with his threat. I like a guy who does what he says he will do. He should run for office!!

If this was a gun they would have died with the first bullet. Instead, they might have survived even with repeated stabbings.

Just saying.

Then she said, "I am going to die."

I hope she had enough time to say good bye to her children.

Ok, I thought I understood the different degrees of murder, but apparently not. If he'd previously threatened to stab her to death, wouldn't it be considered premeditated and therefore be first degree murder, not second?

What a beautiful story.

There's also a saying about a woman, a fish, and a bicycle that might have some relevance here.

Well that's the last straw! They can have my barbecue fork when they pry it out of my cold, dead hands!

Because gay men in relationships NEVER beat on each other and if they had a child THEY WOULD NEVER EVER COMMIT DV!

Go read the actual prevalence rates of gay men slapping each other up. I think it's actually higher than heteros.

Dan swings.
Dan misses.

Bob, Dan doesn't do "Gay men are perfect" posts, he does "Straight couples are not necessarily perfect" articles. You sound like you're saying all couples, gay or straight, stab each other.
No, they don't, and NEITHER of them is immune to conflict, crime, and various other nasty things.
But the point is that they're equal. Man/woman isn't better. Many man/woman couples need to be replaced, at whatever cost, and if you can't wind a man/woman relationship, a man/man or woman/woman relationship isn't any worse.

That, I think, is Dan's point.

Another person totally misses the point of the "Every child deserves a mother and a father" posts.

These posts destroy the argument of people against gay marriage and adoption rights that merely the having of a mother and a father makes for happy, successful children. The posts say nothing about gay parents, not even by implication.

They just obliterate the first refuge of those who want to deny marriage and adoption rights for gays. It is simply false, that having a mother and a father in kids lives is automatically good for the kids. It is patently ridiculous to think that having one man and one woman as the parental figures is the ONLY requirement. Every one of these posts, and every incident similar to them demonstrate that something else, and something more is required than merely having a male and a female raising kids.

Perhaps that something else would be a loving, supportive, and supported family structure (duh), but then the anti-gay marriage/adoption people would have to make a compelling argument that such a structure could not exist with same sex parents, and that it is because of the fact that such a family has same sex parents.

Right now, with laws as they are in many places, the worst heterosexual parents are considered better than the best homosexual parents ever could be. That is a shame.

repeatedly stabbing his wife with a 13-inch barbecue fork in front of their two young children…. Debra Lynn Bonilla, 38, suffered at least a dozen stab wounds,

So...

Does that mean he actually stabbed her a dozen times? Or did he stab her six times and make two holes each time?

Sometimes I get the impression that you don't think psychopaths should be parents.
