Yeah, I thought John Edwards was the best as well. I know they write the jokes for them, but he played along really well. Universal haircare! 1,000,000th mention! Very funny. I liked Hillary making fun of herself as well with the 3 a.m. phone call as well. I think Barack would've been funnier if he was actually live, as opposed to the satellite connection, but that's just me.

edWORDs is an istant classic.

What a score for Colbert - and to think Stewart had on Uma Thurman (terrible interview) - he has really eclipsed his old boss. I wonder if the Michelle booking two days ago was a trail balloon for Obama's participation - he really softballed that interview and let her plug her message repeatedly.

It's still very odd for me to think about how history books 50 years from now will talk about Colbert and Stewart in much more detail than they talk about Twain or Swift or any of the leading satirists of any other time(excepting, perhaps, the classical age) in our current history.

I, too, thought Edwards was the best -- most of that was probably the writing, but his delivery was great. Hillary's delivery was pretty good, much less wooden than I would expect. Obama suffered from the satellite feed -- this has been a pretty consistent theme with him. Whenever I've seen him on a not-completely-serious show via satellite, he doesn't come across as well.

Edwards was hilarious. And Obama was enjoying himself hugely, which made it fun. ...OK yes, I hate Clinton and can't say anything nice about her. I admit it.
