Wow, you're right!
Raising 10 million dollars to contest Obama's victory and prevent him from starting a campaign against McCain makes the Democrats giggle and dance together.
Shouldn't you have padded this post with twenty paragraphs of quotes? And then not bothered to use a cut?
I haven't felt so embarrassed for a candidate inserting a desperate plea for money and a plug for their website into their speech since Jerry Brown in 92. Amazing that it worked, but I guess people give cash to Pat Robertson every week, too, when he asks them to.
Does this mean her campaign's back in the black, again?
Well that's great, instead of being a little over $10 million in debt, she'll only be a little over in debt, GREAT NEWS FOR HILLARY! The tide is certainly turning, oh wait, how much does Obama have in the bank, only $41 million (as of Monday, who knows what he has now, we'll I know he has the $25 I sent him yesterday), yeah, he should pack it in, I mean he is behind in the popular vote, that is if we count the votes in MI and FL, and assume that absolutely no one in MI would vote for Obama, I'm not going to get into the whole HRC saying she won't run in those states and then going back on her word, I'm sorry, I can't take it any more, would that cackling witch just go away, please dear lord, I can't take it...
"Hillary is such a fucking cunt." - Michelle Obama
VOTE HILLARY!!!
your petulance has gone from irritating to comically predictable.
I guess its the same people who think (or at least say) that 9=10 are the ones doing the math on this one.
Yeah, so WHY is she raising money, Erica? She's no closer to the nomination than she was before the PA vote. She can't possibly win. So why is she still running?
I mean, I understand that she's ALLOWED to keep running, I just don't understand why she's doing it.
I think this will ultimately be good for the Dems, for two reasons-
A) Whoever wins will look like a conqueror, which is good for making the dems not look like pussies
B) Media is entirely focused on the dem primary, taking away from potential McCain publicity like his visit to New Orleans
All right! $10 Million more to spend on smearing Obama so John McEndlessWar can save some money in the fall! You go Hils!
What is it with Hillary supporters projecting their worst behaviors onto everyone else? Clinton has said point-blank that caucus states (such as ours) are "flooded with activists" and aren't "representative of voters-at-large". What the fuck does that mean other than we're not "real Democrats", or at least not important ones. And then Erica has the nerve to act victimized and talk this trash about Hillary's supporters not being real Democrats. Grow up. You're little misogyny song and dance is getting pretty old. People don't like Hillary because she is a) a liar, b) disgustingly opportunistic, c) has nothing but obvious contempt for liberals abnd liberal policy, and d) has run her campaign like a Republican. It has nothing to do with her vagina. Can you please find a new hobby horse now? Good Lord.
What must life be like for you, ECB? One minute a victim of the patriarchy, the next a proud "in-your-face" table-turnin' cowgirl with a no-nonsense attitude and a truckload of street sense. My the high-falootin' life you lead.
If only it were credible. Or happy.
Whew, a lot of comment-hate for ECB. But I think this is one of her better posts; concise, constructive, correct, and optimistic.
I do worry about Democratic unity, but it's news like this that makes me think "okay, people still like the party; maybe the doucheyness of both candidates isn't as big a problem as I'd feared."
more sarcasm! not enough! MORE! MOAR! MOOOOOAAAAARRRR SAAAARRRRRCASMMMMM!!!
So, in other words, you're telling me to donate another $100 to Obama? Done and done.
@8,
She can't drop out. She hasn't had a decisive loss. Instead she's gotten just enough victories to give her an excuse to stay in. At this point, she shouldn't drop out. Her supporters will be crazy pissed if she drops out before the whole thing is over.
If she takes this to the convention, however, she can go fuck herself.
@14 - and by just enough victories, that means a net gain +1 pledged delegate.
My question is when does "why can't he knock me out" become old, stale and stupid? We all know it's close. There's still a 1st and a 2nd in close and obviously the 2nd place person didn't knock out the first place either.
Isn't why can't he deliver the knock out blow basically just why isn't he winning by more?
Just curious, ECB: where was your "Clinton wins Pennsylvania. Spin that!" post on Tuesday night? I looked for it and couldn't find it.
Were you excited when she netted those eight delegates in one of the "big states"?
Sorry. I figured since we were being sarcastic...
time to play, "Feed the Trolls!"
to be followed by, "Whining when Trolls Attack!"
How many of those "contributors" also gave to McCain?
After all, they know she'll run his ads for him ...
I don't think ECB knows how to write in a non-inflammatory manner.
I'm ignoring her in the believe that she'll go away.
(oh, and she had negative $8.1 million according to the Washington Post on election day in PA, so how much does she actually "have" now ...)
You she's broken even from the $10 million debt she has?
I am among those who do not think a prolonged battle for the nomination is bad for the Democrats. In fact, I think it is energizing and will be the stimulus for creating a stronger, more energetic and focused party we have longed for. There is finally real, impassioned involvement from the voters. Let the Republicans wallow in their complacency, we have creative turmoil!
ECB, go watch that Daily Show clip. HRC running the Republicans campaign against the Democratic candidate. The arrogance really is to the point where you have to wonder if her, Carville and little Georgie Stephanopoulos wouldn't be happier if Obama lost so that she could run again in four years.
@13 - If she's going to write predictable, inflammatory posts, I'm going to leave predictable, inflammatory comments (as I did above @10).
She's $10 million in debt, moron.
@15...I'm right behind you. Thanks for the tip ECB, you're an effective fund raising tool for Obama around here. Keep up the good work.
$10 million in 24 hours? I sort of doubt that the donors are Democrats at all.
ECB, after Obama wins the nomination, I would appreciate it if you did not vote for him in the general election. You do not deserve to be part of the Joy of victory over tyranny. That goes for Big Sven too.
The cutest part is that ECB actually believes Hillary is telling the truth. It's adorable, in a victimized-by-feminism kind of way.
Wake up sweetie, a lot of them are Republicans.
@30 Oh, come on. Big Sven hasn't been that bad. OTOH, add McG, fluteprof, and, of course, unPC to the list.
George W. Bush was a great son and a great president. Hillary Clinton was a great First Lady and will be a great president. We should change the constitution so that only relatives of past presidents are eligible.
And anyway that we can make sure that Bill feels that people continue to really love him is fine by me.
Hey! It's mathematically impossible for me to win the nomination, too!
Someone send me $10,000,000.00!
ECB would rather pursue her feminist daydreams than actually win an election. I am truly stunned that ECB still follows Hillary after all the bullshit she has pulled of late. She is one of the phoniest, most Machiavelian politicians around. While I rarely use the "C" word, it is most certainly fitting for Hillary
Clinton is just in the race until Obama wins another state. The only reason she didn't drop out after Texas/Ohio (despite the fact she didn't win by a big enough margin) is that it would look awkward if Obama didn't take the nomination on a victory and kill momentum.
But congratulations on drinking the Kool-Aid on that one ECB and perpetuating the idea that this race is still on like mainstream media. Maybe you could get a job shoveling shit at the USA Today or Newsweek.

You know, when I clicked on that "Post Comments" link tonight, I was already thinking about the waitresses pouring coffee and police officers standing guard and small businesses working to meet that payroll, and you deserve a champion who stands with you.
You know, more than ever, the pundits need your help to continue this journey. So, I hope you'll go to Senator Obama and show your support because the future of this campaign is in your hands.
You know, all through this campaign, I have offered solutions: my friends. I might stumble and I might get knocked down, because for me, in the end, I commend Senator Obama and his supporters.
You know, I whispered in your ears, "see, you can be anything you want." The mothers played football for Penn State, fathers being judged side by side, little girls fighting to pay the outrageous price of gas at the pump today.
If we roll up our sleeves, to fight for everyone who has ever been counted out, tackling everything from Alzheimer’s to diabetes, we're going to end the war on science.
Will we lift up all of our ideals and break the world again? Will we break our people?
Senator Obama looked through all the heat and saw the light.
You know, you listened and you chose. You deserve a Commander-in-Chief Obama.
You know, thank you and God track you.
@ 15 - You're right, this means I'll have to give Barack another $100.
How come Hillary - wife of an ex-Pres and all that mojo from the Clinton Era of Good Feelings -- can't deliver the head shot or knock-out blow to the upstart Obama? BECAUSE MANY MANY ORDINARY WORKING CLASS DEMS HAVE FIGURED OUT THAT SHE'S A FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED GENERAL ELECTION CANDIDATE
She can't figure out how to win Pennsylvania by more than nine points and she has a campaign that she has run into debt twice now. Plus she remembers snipers that never happened because she says she was tired, but she's running a campaign about being ready at 3 a.m. How in hell can she say she's ready on Day One?
"Stop the Drama - Support Obama!"
ECB, I'm sure you, Josh, and other Hillary supporters, have donated handsomely to her campaign. If not, then come back to us when you have.
Wonder when she'll write a nice thank you card to Rush Limbaugh for the hand out?
I just donated $100 to Obama's campaign. Fuck Hillary.
@11 has it dead on:
"People don't like Hillary because she is a) a liar, b) disgustingly opportunistic, c) has nothing but obvious contempt for liberals abnd liberal policy, and d) has run her campaign like a Republican."
I don't care what anyone says, this post is great! It's raised at least $400 for Obama so far.
James Carville on Larry King just made me donate another $50 to Obama.
You fucking suck you fucking hypocrite.
Thank you.
Hillary's campaign is notorious for not paying debts. Typically, you'll find news stories 2 months after a given primary where the campaign has stiffed some caterer, printer, landlord in that particular state.
Somehow, I doubt that Hillary will use any of that 10 mil for paying those people off.
But .... she's such a victim...
Jane, you ignorant slut...
Yep, I gave Obama more money as well.
Whoever they are they are throwing away money, and if they were truly Democrats they'd consider that $10 million could put to far better uses.
I was one of those Democrats that gave her $100. You little children need to quit whining; you'll eventually get your way the way your parents always did for you growing up. In the meantime, I am doing everything I can to get my way because I'm a baby-boomer and we ALWAYS get our way. Right now, my "way" is to aggravate the shit out of you. Go Hillary! Keep going until you can go no more! Show the world what a fight looks like!
