Replacing a church - finally a condo project the Slog can get behind, no matter how "unaffordable" the condos are.

@1 - How long have you been a member of the Evangelical Ethiopian Church?

I lived next to that church for 3 years. It's located in a quiet, residential portion of Capitol Hill. (They were great neighbors.) Condos would fit right in. The neighborhood is a mix of buildings and homes. With three churches on that block, parking was easy. I guess all good things come to an end, though and I think that's the right thing to put there.

I just hope they make it sort of brick-looking to match the building next door.

Can't we figure out something better to do with these churches - like putting supercomputers in them.

I was hoping that somehow Velocity and some other arts groups would buy it. Ugh.

I live in a condo inside a hundred-year-old church. Churches-into-condos seems to be a trend these days...I wonder why that is.

I just wished The Stranger paid their employees enough to get cameras that don't suck ass.

1,250,000 / 19,000 = $66 a square feet.

By golly, we should turn it into some condos and sell 'em at $550 a square foot!

That's about my payment.

Just what Rainier Beach needs, another church. All the commercial space there is slowly becoming some sort of fly-by-night money taker. But for all the piety, the neighborhood just gets shittier and shittier.

I was actually hoping to from a co-op and buy that place. Alas, I have no money, nor the right connections...
