Speaking of celebrity sex tapes, what's up with this whole Rob Lowe nanny scandal? I saw something about it on TV last night, and that was the first I'd heard of it. It doesn't involve a sex tape, I don't believe, but anyone with a copy of the original Rob Lowe masterpiece, preferably on VHS, should contact me. I wanna see it.

Oh it REALLY REALLY must have sucked to be an FBI agent in those days.

I used to have a copy of one of the Lowe tapes. 10 generation and all that. I threw it away with the rest of my video collection.

I'm surprised the MM hasn't surfaced before. How long before it shows up on the internet? Unless it is destroyed or locked up in a bank vault, I would guess around 3-7 years. First a master copy gets made on tape, just in case. The transfer process involves both high and low tech with ample opportunity to tap into the video signal, if not boot it off a monitor. However, even in a military security clearance post production house, with all possible video outputs blocked (a rarity), eventually a tape gets stored in a temp. controlled vault with a million other tapes. Then, at some point 2 or 3 years down the line, somebody who gets paid not much money to guard the vault, borrows the tape, takes it to their buddy who works late at night in a tape duplication house and makes a copy or two of it. The buddy makes a copy. Now both these people occasionally show it to friends. Then one of two things happens. Either the vault guard, or his buddy lose their job, and needs money or one of either of their friends does the math and steals a copy. Then all bets are off.

This is also why scripts are always floating around Hollywood despite attempts by executives to keep a particular script secret. Eventually someone who gets paid crap, has to make a copy for the executive. This script in turn gets mailed to some other executive whose assistant receives it. and so on.A minor aside for Charles M.- (I think only kubrick beat this systemic leakage on his last film by having guards escort the script and watch the script being read. Then the guards took the script back). Maybe other people do this now but I doubt it.

This is why conspiracies are so hard to keep secret. Because unless all involved are true believers or very professional (another form of true believer), word gets out.

the dlisted link from towleroad had a little more info. It said that she did look straight at the camera. It also makes the strong point about the noisiness of those old cameras. She had to know it was there.

It's fake, you gullible lot.

Kept secret for 40 years? The owner won't release it "out of respect for Marilyn", but has no problem blabbing about it in graphic detail to a newspaper reporter? Uh, huh. The entire article is based on the word of one person.

The footage is fake or more likely doesn't even exist. The guy is obviously working an angle.

There have been serious rumors for years of still photos of her deliberately drugged up and doing much more than that.
